As stated before, drive both ....... that very well could answer your question.
For me, by sheer default, it would have to be the 1LE just because of the M6 (not to mention a host of several personal reasons ).
.......for you, you may prefer the 2SS A8 for a daily driver

Good luck ......and enjoy !

I have a 1LE, my friend has a 2SS auto. They're both good cars and we each have the one better suited for us.

I was able to build a 2SS 1LE yesterday on Chevy.com.
However, it said see dealer for pricing.

And yes, it was the full 1LE package, all the goodies.

I had issues with my 2SS they couldn’t fix....ended up with this 1LE, so glad my '16 couldn’t be fixed.... they drive night and day imho.

Daily driver with a lot of freeway and city driving? 2SS.

Daily driver with a lot of backroad action and autocross? 1LE.

Thats all there is to it really. The narrower wheels/tires on the 2ss make a great high speed cruiser. The very wide sticky tires of the 1le GRIP AND GRAB, great for a track or backroad, terrible for the messed up freeways/city streets of CA. Suspension is the same with MRC on the STREET.

If I did autox, a 1le would be in my garage RN. But I dont. 2ss por me.

2SS only because you can get the A8, now that the 1LE package is available w/ the 2SS is great I just think GM missed the ball on offering a 1LE w/ the A8 option.

There may be slightly used 1LE's out there as well. The 1LE is very nice but I wouldn't take a new one at $42+k over my $34K 2SS...
If you are planning on actually tracking the car, the 1LE is hard to beat. The standard SS is plenty capable in most situations for the majority .

If were initially set on getting the manual, get the manual! Test drive both to be sure. Make sure you check out the rev match feature on the 6m test drive.

BTW, I had test driven both originally and clearly liked the manual more but bought a 1SS A8(also slightly used) at a great price at the time. I was bored with it in a month. I've had the 6m for almost 5 months now and wouldn't have it any other way!
THIS^^^

Got mine used 2016 M6 2SS with about 5K on the odo. Every option I wanted, sun roof, red interior, Dual Mode, Mag ride, Split rims for 35K. Used is the way to go if you willing to cope with a few months knocked off your warranty.

Why? I correctly set my mirrors and turned that annoying crap off on day one.

The rims might be lighter but the wider tires are not...so your weight savings is probably nill.

I agree with the guys suggesting buying a lightly used 6th gen. No way I would buy new as fast as these cars depreciate. Low mileage (under 5k miles) 1SS can be had for 30- 32k, 2SS 34-36k, 1LE in the same range. I just could not see losing 8k driving a new car off the lot.

2SS for life! I drive this car more on the road than a track. Think reasonable. The 2SS is a great touring car, and sport mode is still there for ya! Its better and has more features IMO its worth it.
