Window closes and than goes halfway down.

Wnen hitting the up express button for driver window it sometimes goes up and than goes halfway and stops. Took it to the dealer, they called GM tech and was told to replace the motor and that re-programming will not solve the issue. The motor itself has programming that sometimes screws up. So I am waiting for the motor to come in so they can replace it. Hoping this will work.

Waiting for the dealer to install a window motor when it comes in.

Mine does this too but only under this scenario:
I park my car and crack the windows
When I come back out after work, I get in and while starting the car I have the drivers door open to let the hot air escape. I hit the express down. I get situated and close the door.
I take off and as I get on my way I hit the express up, that is when it goes up then goes back down halfway.

I has never done this at any other time only in this scenario.

Thoughts?

Maybe!!! The dealer adjusted the driver’s window. I hope that that has fixed the window problem. When opening the door the window did not index down far enough. They checked the passenger’s window and it was down further than the driver’s window so they adjusted it. Good so far.

My fix was to disconnect the harness at the drivers side door, when I plugged it back in and reindexed the problem seems to be corrected.

Cheers

Hmmmm.there seems to be a relationship between this and my different problem.

The dealer has a new motor and control unit for me that has not been installed yet.

My problem is that if you press the button hard enough to engage express up or down....."Door Open" displays on the DIC and the window quits moving. It goes up and down fine as long as you feather touch it

Where do you unhook the harness at..under the door panel??
