Had to order a new wheel...

Had a little mishap with a curb, so I ordered a new wheel through the GMC dealership that the company I work for owns...

GM wants a $50 core charge when ordering this, which I thought was odd. But the REALLY strange thing is, they wanted PHOTOS of the damage before they would ship it!!! Anyone every heard of this?

Yes, happened to me. Be happy it's only a $50 charge now. When I did mine it was $500.

Yes - I have heard that GM is making people prove damaged/stolen ZL1 wheels or they will not approve/accept the order.

IF you claim that your wheels were stolen, THEN GM demands to see a copy of the police report before processing the order.

It seems virtually impossible to buy ZL1 10 spoke or 5 spoke wheels from
the factory suppliers due to wheels on constraint.

All you owed was $50 core charge? Or did you have to buy 1 rim outright and the core charge was just minused off the price of the new rim?

I paid for the wheel plus $50. Then I assume they will give it (the $50) back to me when/if I were to return it.
