Yes, Yes he is. Pat G is a genius. Unfortunately he lives just over 6 hrs away. He also does not like meth. He drove all the way up for my first tune then i drove down to Victoria Tx when i pulley'd down the D1. He didnt even charge me for that tune. Kurt Decker(LSX Performance) didnt charge me for his dyno time. We just shot a bunch of ammo after we were done. Couple really good dudes.

James Karger is gonna tune my new twin setup here in a week. He loves the meth and is excellent according to my research. I cant get E85 so might as well use my alky system thats already installed.

This thread just got me thinking....... I popped my #5 piston ringlands after upping the boost from 6 to 11 psi and up to 715rwhp. I was running -6 plugs when i was 6 psi and 637whp.

When i pulley'd down and added meth the shop i used at the time did not change out the plugs to -7 heat range. Just the smaller pulley, meth and tune.

Six weeks later and 6 gallons of meth my motor copped an attitude and there went #5 on the factory motor. Wonder if a cooler plug would have made it last a little longer.

I was on a mission to see how much crap the motor could take, and it held up pretty long. Just wonder if a cooler plug would have prolonged it a little longer

Food of thought.

Denso IT-22's or IT-24's to be extra safe. These are good for nitrous use as well.

So you were at 11 psi and 715 RWHP on -6 projected tip plugs? Pretty good chance they were turning into glow plugs and caused detonation. I would have used at least a 7 heat range, if the meth shot was small and/or the fuel was less than 93 octane I would have used an 8.

Another thing to add for anyone reading......a forged motor won't last any longer or hold any more power than the stock motor if the plugs are too hot. It creates detonation (preignition to be exact) that timing retard by the computer's knock sensor cannot help.

Agreed, you can have the best amps and speakers in the world but distortion will kill it.

Why don't you just ask your tuner what he's comfortable with if he says whatever call ngk (great company) they will answer all questions you have and give you the best option. I made the mistake of asking a spark plug question on here after a piss and moan match, just like this is turning into, and I just talked to my tuner we went with tr6 plugs runs perfect. Just don't waste your time on here you'll get a million answers for the million options.

Im pretty sure they were -6 plugs but i doubt projected tips. I did not ask Dallas Performance at the time. I know i was not charged for new plugs. So i was at 11 psi with meth on a D1sc with 65# FAST injectors that were at 88% duty cycle on the dyno tune. I asked if ID1000s were better and was told the meth would compensate. I had a big question mark on that remark so i take responsibility for my stupidity. I also beat the living crap out of the motor and now have a new HKE built LSX 427 that is stupid.
