Another victim of the cheap a$$ slave cyl/ throw out bearing

Ordered an oem slave/ bearing...with the monster billet bearing support. And a Spec stage 2 clutch with thier steel flywheel... and the tick remote bleeder.

Already have the Wilwood remote resivour and tick ss line with the ideal garage master cyl....

Good news is I've got a hard 36k on mine and it's fine. Here's hoping the best for yours as well!

But yeah, I'm planning on doing a full Monster setup in there once my clutch bites the dust. I can't believe how cheap GM went on this thing.

Mine sticks, but it's just a little notchy through the shifter. I installed a return spring and no more sticking now. But even though the spring helped, the clutch action still feels like crap, and the point where it grabs is inconsistent. It's definitely a sign that it's gotta get changed either this year or next year.

Update this with your thoughts on the Spec clutch when it is installed. I'm interested in seeing what you think of it. Any reason why you chose that clutch over a twin disc?

I don't think the twin disc was necissary for 475-500 hp...I called spec... this is the clutch they recommended for my application.

Talking

Clutch is in... wow, what a difference. This baby grabs...but it's smooth too. It's like a brand new car. Before it chattered when taking off...that started when I installed the cam. Super happy with this clutch so far...

Wilwood resivour/ monster billet bearing support/ ideal garage master cylinder/ oem slave/ tick ss clutch line and remote bleeder line/ Spec stage 2 clutch and billet steel flywheel

Hello Clarkstar and the other posters on this thread,

I have noticed that upon letting out the clutch in 1st gear/launch, and I think particularly with the Hill Assist active, I will get some kind of noticeable smell in the interior. Has anyone else experienced that, and knows what the source is?

Also, I have let some family members drive the Camaro, but without any recent clutch experience, some of the launches were not clutch friendly. I am expecting to have to replace parts at some point, but everything now still works. I don't have extensive mechanical knowledge. I thought the throw out bearing was not located anywhere near the slave cylinder - I thought it was located very close to the clutch itself?

Thanks in advance for your further replies!
