Fuel pump choices(ZL1+DSX)

Well it looks like DeatschWerks discontinued the 400lph drop in fuel pump module for our cars. So i am thinking i will just install the ZL1 pump for now. I still have my BAP but there is a sale pending on it and i am thinking its just a bandaid that will only support 600-650 rwhp. I'm lowering my goal to 500-575 rwhp with the single turbo kit anyways. I do plan on getting the DSX aux fuel pump when i switch over to bigger injectors and E85 down the road. I have 850cc Fast injectors. So my question is for you boosted guys will the ZL1 pump alone be ok for my power goals with 91 octane?

if you are just running 91 at 575, you will be fine with the zl1 pump.

I hit 640 with a ZL1 pump and a BAP with plenty to spare.

I'm not gonna run the BAP and this is thru an auto too. I figured the L99 soaks up at least 50 more hp then the M6?

The 6l80 is pretty efficient, I doubt your gonna lose 50hp compared to manual. I have a similar setup Cam, LSA, ZL1 pump & FPCM (no bap) made 630 (100 degree day way heat soaked) on 10lbs with no fuel pressure problems. I know the Fuel System is something it's better to overshoot than undershoot but the ZL1 pump and fpcm is better than it gets credit for imo

Good luck with your build!

I was told by a very reputable turbo outfitter that a stock LS3 SS fuel pump with a BAP will support about 620 WHP, and the ZL1 would carry it to 680-700, both of these are on pump gas. For any more HP or using E85 I will need to go to a double or triple pump setup. I don't know, does the L99 use the same fuel pump as the LS3?

I am running a ZL1 pump with the FPCM set to 65 psi. and DSX aux pump set to turn on at 4 psi.
Also have ID1050X injectors. With the TH400 I am at 625 on 93 and 680 on E85. No pressure drop at all. Injector cycle was like 70%.

I am running a centrifugal supercharger.

I went a little bit different route. I know you wanted info on a BAP
In my case I am running a Fore Innovations Triple pump setup staged on E85
I am also on a centrifugal supercharger as well. As I have not dynoed it as of yet, I am trying to reach around 650rwhp as this is my daily as well as it is SBE and everything else is stock. The main reason I ended up doing it this way was because if later down the road (which I will) I wanted to get more power the last thing I would need to check is the fuel as I have enough pumps and the lines are big enough to hold the fuel and the pressure I would need to run either 93 tune or E85 tune.

My setup

I am running stock pump with SMG auxiliary with FIC 1000 and E85 with an LSA supercharger with a 2.50 pulley putting 709 RWHP. Going to upgrade pump this winter to the ZL1 and a couple other small changes but should be at 800 tire then. Being told that is getting close to Maxing out the fuel system but it will work.

I can tell you the bone stock pump will make 575 through the 6l80e . That is the all out limit. Anymore and you’ll drop fuel pressure and have to be creative to make it work. The ZL1 pump will be good for well over 600.

Exactly. My friend has a P1sc on his 2015 SS m6 and makes 751/675. He runs only E85 (e80ish) and only has a ZL1 pump, KB BAP, and tuned FPCM.

His computer is commanding 58psi, and his FP tapers off to 43psi. He has ID1300x2 injectors that see around 70% dc.

If we weren't data logging, we wouldn't know that his fuel pump is overworked. I suggested that he should get a better fuel system. If anything happens, clogged fuel filter, or BAP fails, he would never know... especially since he has no Wideband.

Coincidentally, he just recently popped a piston. went 418.
