In 2003 there was a Gallup poll about what American's considered rich. It broke down as follows:

If you earn under $30,000, you on average consider $74,000 annual income to be rich
If you earn $30,000-$50,000, you on average consider $100,000 annual income to be rich
If you earn over $50,000, on average you consider $200,000 annual income to be rich

The total average amount to be considered rich across all income levels is $122,000 annual income.

But consider this. If you make over $34,000 you are in the top 5% of income earners in the world. If you make over $48,000 you are in the top 1%.

We're all already rich.

Im not rich, but the last 2 years were very profitable for me.

Not rich. Just single with a college degree and 5 years as a deputy. I work overtime when I can and I didn't buy a house that I couldn't afford. I'm 26 and better off than most people I know, but only because I've worked hard to get to where I am today.

Actually a 2SS with any factory options is more like $40k after tax, title and license are all said and done. With that said no not everyone on here is rich. There are a lot that have a ton of money into their cars but not everyone.

Thanks! Yeah I'm working on it - they also subsidize three quarters the cost of getting a pilot's license, too, which is another priority.

The gubment thinks if you make 250K or more you're apparently TOO rich. I'm thinking those that live in LA or Manhattan might argue.

2SS/RS, RJT, A6, sunroof, more like 40k here. (paid cash). I will mod and run the hell out of this car because when you are diagnosed with cancer you don't give a shit about money, just having fun till I stop kicking!

Thanks for the perspective! Rich is what you define it to be! I don't consider myself monetarily rich but I know I am doing OK. Paying the bills, still employed and working hard all my life! I'm finally at the point that I can actually afford a luxury like my SS after 20 years of raising kids and paying a mortgage, time to pay myself back!
