turbo more fuel ?

Tried a search but not sure how to word this. Because the 1le has a better fuel system, if I install a turbo or supercharger will the fuel pump handle the demand?

1LE's have a ZL1 pump. So with a BAP s/c will be about 650ish tapped out and turbos, I believe AGP has been in the 700/800 range.

A pump, by itself, is not a fuel system. You can have all the pressure in the fuel lines that you want, but when you tap out the injectors, that pressure means nothing.

It has a ZL1 pump but that wont get you very far with a turbo system. Short answer is no.

The stock pump and injectors should be upgraded for any SC or Turbo on a 1LE. The Turbo or SC manufacturer will have the info right in the instruction paperwork . If you check in the forced induction forum right here on the site you will get the right info from folks who have been there and done that . I would also look into getting a better clutch ,your going to need it .

My suggestion is to upgrade your pump and sell the ZL1 fuel pump and buy bigger injectors.
Also consider if you want to do E85 in the future cause if so then you would need even bigger injectors to run what you want to run with either turbos or with a supercharger.

guess I should have been more clear. Was just wondering about the pump, seems it’s used with a.factory SC. The injectors I could see changing, but not sure why the pump. Not sure if I’m going to do it, will probably go with a cam instead. But it was a thought. Not going to be a drag car and don’t want 7000 rpm, just looking at options. Thanks for the information everyone

On a ZL1 pump, no BAP, and 65lb-injectors, I was making 630RWHP with my Whipple. A turbo should have been good for about another 50RWHP with the same setup. A BAP will get you a little further, but in the end, you will probably end up wanting to make more power, so you should go ahead and buy an AGP dual pump setup now LOL.
