1LE is now cammed and heads ported!

Just picked her up from CMS, went with stage2 cam and ported heads. She put down 478rwhp/427rwtq. Wanted a nice conservative road race build. Car drives like stock and pulls hard. Don't know how hard yet as it was damp and drizzly when I picked her up.

+1

Just curious, what's your idle rpm set at?

Sounds about right, doesnt sound like a really aggressive cam + guessing stock ported heads.

There are cams that can do this power without heads, it depends what the car is intended for. Lots of factors in dyno numbers as well (dynos, elevations, temp, humidity etc...) if the OP is happy thats all that matters in the end,

OP said he is doing a road race cam. They aren't for peak power, since lots of lift is hard on the motor for 20-30minutes at time near max RPM.

They are built for more power under the curve so peak HP will be down but overall useable power is the same or more in some cases.

Love that sound.

Makes me want to jump in my 1le and go cruising. Now.

But then again, 28 degrees and 3 feet of snow really bring me down to earth.

Yes guys thanks for the back up. This is a mild road race cam cant remember full specs but 61x's 114+2 cant remember the duration but it is a custom stage2 road race cam. I also asked for a conservative tune so I can spin at 6k all day! Another reason I wanted smooth flow. Cam only they been getting 440-450 so 478 I am happy with. It has a level tq curve right in the sweet spot for digging out of the corners.

The car feels great drives like stock from down low, again needed in road racing and as in the video you can tell its not wild as the lope is there but not chopping like say a polluter or night fury. Way less lift and separation than those cams that are making near 500 not what i need or was going for.

The heads are stock, cnc ported by WCCH

the build is right where I need it.

Idle is around 850 here is the graph
