Personally I kind of laugh when I see something badged that it isn't. But I will say that the Hot Wheels badge is cool. Part of my love for cars is from the constant hours I spent with my Hot Wheels and that damned orange track. You are right these are just toys for the bigger boys.

Why not just mind your own business? The OP actually asked how this makes people feel as if one might need some sort of counseling to get through the "fake badging tragedy of the century!". OMG THE HORROR! LOL.

It's definitely absurd to be pissed or call someone a liar. I used to put "remove before flight" banners on my motorcycle. I guess I'm a liar because my motorcycle can't fly.

If any of these folks harmless badging bothers you on any level for any reason whatsoever, except in the case of fraud during actually money transactions, you might have a pretty sad life.

my work truck came with badges for the V10 that's in it. they left them on the dash instead of putting them on. I've always thought of putting them on my V6 camaro just to irritate the anal retentive owners out there that are truly bothered by that stuff.

Some people worry about things that just don't need to be worried about.

Because it is disappointing to think that another car enthusiast has to resort to actually badging his car as something that it isn't in order for him to feel good about it.

Disappointment is a feeling, and avoiding it is no easier than un-seeing what caused it in the first place.

You don't have to be worried about a topic in order to have an opinion on it . . . which is all the topic title is asking for.

Click-bait? Probably.

Ok, confessional time. In 1975, I put "W-30" metal emblems* on my standard, '73 Olds 442. (it was a cam package if memory serves) I did it for me, not to dupe anyone on resale. I was 20 years old and it made me "feel" good. How many Hail Mary's?

*In those days you had to drill holes. I was SERIOUSLY feeling it!

forum, what do you think of fake badging?

I dislike it. Especially, when someone puts autobot (transformers emblems) on their yellow camaro when it's not a real transformers edition. You can do what you want with you car, but at least don't get the cheap looking badges lol. I know the real one ones are pretty pricey, but still hahaha. I see so many with the cheap toy looking emblems. To each their own I guess.

From what I've read over the years it was a fresh air induction system. Cars came with red finders and had holes cut to allow for scopes under the bumper. The package also included rally pac gauges..

One Hail Mary.. And promise not to put a LT1 logo on your bumper with a L99 Motor under the hood..
