What Size HX plumbing? Stock? 3/4”? 1”?

I am upgrading my entire Supercharger/cooling system with the following products and curious to know everyone’s thoughts on the appropriate plumbing size for my setup... I am leaning toward 1” throughout.

-Prospeed Heat exchanger
-EMP WP29 HX pump
-RotoFab Res

Thanks in advance

That looks clean! Do you run ice in that or just coolant?

I chose 3/4” over 5/8” which is what I was considering. I know the flow increase for 1/4” of hose is pretty substantial but I would think 1” has a greater capacity than most pumps but I don’t know that for sure. Looking at the numbers 3/4” looks more than adequate. Don’t know the difference in price so that would probably determine the chose at that point.

I’m leaning towards the 1” because the pump I got pushes excessively more fluid then even my Magnuson provided pump and night and day compared to ZL1 stock equipment...

What pump are you running that requires 1"?
I'm running a Rule 2000 in tank and the stock Bosch after the HX pushing back to the tank. Works great

That setup with the Rule pump is fairly popular. The flow of volume is inversely related to pressure, so if you have a pump that doesn’t flow well or won’t pump under greater pressure, I would use the 1” . Otherwise it probably won’t really matter , it will be dependent on the pump how much flow you have. Only down side would be the cost of the 1” vs 3/4”.

Keep in mind running the 1" hose from the trunk will not be an easy task

I’m going to be running the Stewart EMP pump (check out prospeed’s website to check it out) From my knowledge you can’t buy a better pump...

EMP is the top of the line, the instruction says to feed the pump with a 1" line so I just did the whole thing 1", but I'm not running to the trunk.

What HX are you running? The reason I ask is I have not seen one with 1" in and out?

I'm running a chiller with no HX, I running BMR tank to the EMP pump to the chiller to the supercharger, I had the F manifold on the supercharger modified to accept -16 AN fittings so I could run the 1" to it, also when I ordered the BMR tank I had them weld -16 fittings on it.

That sounds like a very nice setup.
