Is it safe to remove paint with a paint thinner/remover...

Painted my bezels but want to go a different route and I need to get the paint off, they won't sand off so I was thinking using a remover/thinner to get the paint off. Would it damage the bezels?

I would imagine it may melt the bezels (as the are plastic). You can pick up a brand new set for around $60.

If the Bezels are plastic, paint thinner will damage them. if you are just wanting to change their color again, use a "Scotch-Brite " pad to scuff up the surface, and repaint them. no big deal.

If they are plastic Lacquer thinner will work but it might damage the chrome finish. Paint remover will definitly damage the plastic, it is very harsh. If they are metal either one would be fine.

I would just scuff and repaint the new color if that's your plan.

I am going to get them vineled and the guy at the place said I have to remove the paint before they do anything to it. Would scotch-brite get all the paint off?

Use the Paint thinner, Paint thinner will effect the Bezel, if the Bezel was soaked in the Thinner, but your just using a rag to wipe off the paint. Just do a little at a time and not soak the rag to much and you should be o.k. I have done the same thing using Acidtone. After you remove the paint from a section wipe it good with a clean towel

What is vineled? Why would paint inhibit the process? Personally I would use the paint thinner to rub the paint off using an old rag. The plastic may be damaged by it but your not going to leave the bezel soaking in 100% acetone overnight. Ive used acetone to remove paint from plastics, its no big deal.
