With a fully loaded 2SS RS auto sunroof gfx coming close to 50K in Canada I doubt the ZL1 will be 55K in Canada. Some where in the middle of 50 and 80 that the CTS-V goes for in Canada is my guess.

This is how I understand it as well, but I do hope this turns out to be true. I hope they don't change their minds. Obviously, until they get ramped up, the first few probably will have dealer markups. Which suck. But I'll never pay.

I had no idea that rear tires were supposed to last 15K. That is unbelievable. My fronts and rears wear about the same... 8 to 10K... unless I make my car disappear in a cloud of smoke. Then I get four burnouts per set of rear tires

They count on you desiring the car so much you will be willing to pay a markup versus walking away from the deal when the car is sitting in your face versus an order in the job bank.
When the Camaro first came out there were plenty of dealers willing to sell at MSRP. There are at least two that I know of here in the Houston TX area and one of them is where I will be ordering from. But I do agree that there are a lot of dealers who will take advantage of anything to make a buck in stead of getting a customer for life.

The ZL1 is not a regular Camaro. Just because they did not mark up the Camaro when they first came out is no guarantee the same dealer won't add an ADM to the ZL1. I hope many dealers won't, but have a feeling most will.

Well I'm not an immediate buyer at the moment. I will probably find at least a couple of dealers with an allocation (hopefully the two dealers that I would buy from).

Anyways.....my motto and magic formula for an out of state sale (If I can't find a cooperative dealer at home) will be I-A = ZL1 (Invoice - Airfare = ZL1).

For a domestic (in state) sale that formula will abbreviate to X< I = ZL1. (Best price below invoice = ZL1).

Bottom line GM is in the business to make money. They want to compete with the GT500. You probably won't see a row of them at any dealership, but you won't see GM loosing a sale (to the GT500) because someone couldn't order one either.

You don't need to worry about airfare, since you can order the vehicle from any dealer and have a courtesy delivery (costs about $300-$400 for the paperwork) of the vehicle from the Oshawa plant directly to your local dealer. You never have to set foot in the ordering dealer's state.

As for the Dealers looking to mark up the price, I will be checking out the local dealer when a ZL1 comes in, if it's marked up, I have NO problem telling him not only did he lose my business, but I will be picking up a 2013 GT500 instead. I really doubt the dealer would care, but I DO bet Chevy HATES losing business to Ford because of greedy dealers.
If Chevy condoned crooked dealers, I don't think they would publish MSRP. Screwing over your customers is NEVER a good idea, especially the customers who look to purchase future vehicles.
I know Ford dealers did it with the GT500's, and look who took it in the A** with that one! All these guys who think their '07's are worth a mint because they over payed for them?!?!
Check the market value guys, you just got raped.
