Smoker Smell

Hey guys I just got my 2012 45th Anniverary RS Saturday. My 1 and only complaint is the prevous owner was a smoker (cigarettes) How do I get that smell out? So far here is the list of things I have done:
1. Spray Febreze on the floor mats.
2. Put charcoal under the seats.
3. Put a box of baking soda in the floor.
4. Put an automotive air freshener in the floor.
5. Sprayed Febreze into the cowl vents. This was the advise of the chevy service writer.
One last thing, I asked the chevy service writer what they do to get rid of the smell and he told me the dealership has a machine that deodorizes the interior. But he could not guarantee it would be 100%. The cost was $52.00 The smell is getting better but I thought I would put it out there to see if anyone had a solution. Thanks

How expensive is it to just replace the carpet? You can try shampooing everything I guess headliner and carpets. I'd say use a really strong chemical smelling cleaner and do it on a hot day so the cleaner smell heats up inside the car. Then you only gotta smell cleaner til it wears off. The key is whatever you use must smell stronger then the cigs >.>

all of the above , and leave the windows open on a nice day . Fresh air and sunshine will work wonders on deodorizing anything.

Also make sure you scrub down the entire interior even the plastic, I used to smoke heavily and cig resin + humidity and it would create a film all over everything that was orange. I've been quitting smoking so that next week when I get my camaro I will not be smoking in it.

As a one time smoker the only thing I've ever noticed that was successful was time. A few months after I quit the smell was gone. But keep in mind I never smoked with the windows up so smoke wasn't filling up the cabin Cheech & Chong style.

You could also just take up smoking, so that the smell doesn't bother you any longer.

Take it to a detail shop and have them steam the interior. It will kill all the bacteria and get rid of the smell

That sucks (not knocking smokers) but why would you smoke in a car it depreciates a ton of value.

Spend the money and take it to a good detailing shop. Might cost you 100+ but it was the best money I spent. As others have said, time will also help.

Depreciation on the car value is the last thing a smoker cares about. If they don't care about their health then a car sure won't matter and this is coming from a former smoker.
