Changing Seats 1LS - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Has anyone changed their seats from a 2012+ 1LS? The passenger side has no up/down adjustment and of course neither seat is heated, and the power is only to the recliner not to the forward/backward.

If I buy seats out an RS or 2SS with leather, heated, power recline and power forward/back will I need to add any electrical connections? I've heard that there are simply extra connectors below the seats, and I've heard that it would have to be custom done

So which is it? And if only some functions which are they? (For instance maybe the heater won't work but the power forward/back will?)

I have leather in my camaro, the passenger side seat is just power recliner

So are all Camaro passenger seats adjusted at the same height no matter what? I guess I could try to put spacers or something if the studs are long enough because my girlfriends short enough she complains about visibility when in that seat, not that it matters so much but it's still kind of annoying to only have the driver seat adjustable.

Depends on model year. My 2015 is power in all positions.

Forward, backward, up, down, and recline forward/backward?

Tommy: I have the exact same problem with my 2013, my wife HATES even riding in it because it feels like she is sitting on the damn floorboard. We placed a cushion on the passenger's seat so she could see over the hood and then the AIR BAG would NOT activate. This was also a problem on a Monte Carlo and I did place Spacers under the rear of the seat with longer bolts and it worked just fine. Will be doing the same to my 2013 Camaro. Good luck

I think you would need the seat wiring harnesses from a 2LT/2SS, also you would need a HVAC or Radio unit from a 2LT or 2SS for the heated seat function. Even then both the power pass seat & heated seats may be a programmed function kind of like how the door ABL plugs on 1LT & 2LT models have no power to them. You definitely would need to fully research and make sure it would be worth the money spent into that car.
