That was one advantage of moving from Iowa to Kansas... no front plates!! I always hated putting them on some of my cars when I lived there.

Quite a few actually. Don't have time to try n look them up, but I saw a list of at least 13 or so states that don't require front plates.

proper display of plate law says it can't be in the front window.

my 79 Camaro didn't have a bracket factory, state trooper said it didn't matter if I had to drill holes in the nice bumper, it had to be there.

Don't put it on. I've had my Camaro for 7+ months without a front license plate in St. Louis.

Really it all comes down to the age group of the cops. I bet you 90% of cops age 30 and over won't touch you for something like that. I bet you quite a lot of younger ones would. I live in a small town but even when I drive to the Twin Cities I never get pulled over and are seen by many cops. Drove without it in my '94 Z28 for 2 years.

As for my 2010, I'm saying the hell with that. I'll put it on when they force me to put it on.

Stopped twice here in Colorado. Warning the first time, ticket the second, they warned me next time it would be $350. Put the plate on mine. And no I'm not a young kid driving crazy. Both times they were pulled over checking speeds and noticed no plate when I drove by. Guess I'm just unlucky. Jerry.

Yeah that's crap! I've gotten two tickets on my 98' over the past 3 months. First was $30 and the second was $75. I wasn't driving but my car was parked in front of my house for two weeks when the battery died. The second time I even had the plate in the dash. My wife brought in the ticket and I flipped out I called up the Denver Parking Violations and went off! Of course it didn't solve anything but I felt a little better. I've been parking in my driveway no matter what since then. If that meter maid comes by and tries to give me one with it in the drive way, it's on!

I moved to Colorado from Indiana, where they dont require front plates and dont even have a plate holder for my current car. Been driving around with out one for almost 3 years and havent been pulled over once for it. Was pulled over once for speeding and the officer never said a word about me not having a front plate.

Hopefully the trend will continue when my Camaro arrives as I dont want to put the plate on it if I can get away with it.
