2015 SS. Need rear end parts
My axle housing, or "Pumpkin" if you want to call it that, is shot.
You cannot get that part new anymore from GM. Junkyards and EBay have them, but which 1 do I need? 6.2, Auto trans. 3.27 gears is what I have. Will the 3.27 housing out of a manual V6 fit? I know the auto will not with its smaller 2.92 ring gear. Basically need the housing, because I will be changing the gears, The axle I have is RPO is GW6 and trans is RPO MYC. Everything I see is RPO code MYB. Can anybody shed some light here?

The housing inside is tore up... the guy I had change gears in it last year messed it up, It was installed very poorly.
I need the housing to rebuild it.

I just txt’d a friend who has a Chevy SS that he’s trashed some rear diffs in. I asked if any of his cases are usable.
note: this SS is an LS3 6M with a whipple, long tubes and Borla system, forgot which cam, solid drive shaft, built (heavier) rear end (finally!) and leg size axles. It will run real low 10’s, high 9’s on a good night. He blew up 3 or 4 rear ends before he finally took a case and put some heavy guts in it. The whole time the diff is getting built I’m sending him pics of axles telling him to go anead and order them. “No, I think it will be OK for now!” First pass with the new better stronger diff he twisted the right axle like a bread wrapper. |
