I love my Civic Hybrid but that's only because I park it next to my fully loaded SS

There is no thought in my mind of getting rid of my camaro as far as gas prices go.

Honestly if folks did the math they would not panic about gas prices. I belive that the psychology of $4 gas does more damage to the consumer psyche than the financial damage.
I think you miss the point if you think it doesn't damage, first it does. Then, and more importantly, the cost of everything else you buy goes up as well. Who do you think will end up paying for the increases in transportation??

Drilling a few deep water offshore will not do anything, it was being done the last time plus a little naive. This is global issue and plenty countries went into protests and near rioting.

Best solution is really alternative options, you don't need to buy that electric car or whatever but the fact of them being out there means less demand on oil which equals lower gas prices. Although, everyone has to realize oil is a finite resource so can only go in one direction in costs before running out completely.

With all that said I still plan to buy a Z28 loaded of course and just get a real electric car for family & daily driving. Plus already paying over $5 up here a gallon.

It's not my camaro that worries me about high gas prices. I don't drive it enough to make that much difference.

Seems strange, we pump the crude oil out of the ground, pump it about 600 miles. Then it gets refinded into gas in North Pole, then hauled 80 miles south to Delta Junction and we are paying more than you guys down in the states.

I'm sorry but anyone who bought one and didn't think ahead that gas could go up to $5 in the future is a fool. Other countries are paying more than that already. It's only a matter of time before we start creeping up into that range. Hell thats the reason I bought my car. Because sooner or later the V8 is going away or at least getting rarer. I'll pay more to have a car I love and I'll pay more to fuel it too. It's just part of the buying decision.

I watched people trade in their SUV's for little cars when gas was $4.00, and take a $10,000 hit that would never be recouped in fuel economy. The weekly hit just seemed to be more real to them than the long term loss. Will an econobox be in my future....not f'ing likely.
