I got mine back out today and they looked alright for now.. Got down to about 7.

I do have to note that the tires seems to be actually frozen to the ground. I heard them break away when i I pulled forward!

Last week here in north Florida we had a run of three days in with lows in the teens and highs hovering around 40. My 1LE sits in the driveway overnight and no issues from it sitting or being driven at those temps. Traction absolutely sucked. But no cracking.

Forgot to let everyone know I talked to my service manager! He put in a order for new tires and said he would contact me when they are in! At first he didn't know what I was talking about then I showed him the message from GM to dealers about ZL1 and 1LE tire info and he immediately ordered them after that!

Can't believe GM doesn't offer other tire choices at the time of ordering. Dealers must be almost as pissed as cracked tire owners. And yes, I expect to be pummeled. Just hoping someone at GM reads this stuff before 2015 model options are determined. Oh, and bring back ABM color.

It was about 5 degrees in my garage and my tires were fine, just rock hard. So I broke out my claw hammer and started hitting them for about 10 minutes. Finally the pieces of junk cracked.

I'm surprised to read that you guys are driving your 1LE when its so cold.

I live in Canada and the 1LE is scary as hell when the temp drops to around 45F (6c or 7c). To me it feels like the tires get rock hard, and they slip at the slightest touch of the gas.

It's fun, sticky and safe in the spring / summer / fall, but please do yourself a favour and put your 1LE away when it gets cold. The 1LE tires are garbage in the cold.

I purchased a set of the standard 20" 5 spoke Camaro wheels and tires from an outfit that sells take-offs. I can put them on for winter storage in my un-heated garage and put the Goodyears in the house over the winter. They also allow me to drive the car if it gets colder, they have Pirelli Pzero's on them.

Mine are perfectly fine until it drops below 40. It's my daily driver and I have to go to class everyday so I don't really have a choice. Once you get them warmed up (5 miles tops) there pretty much good to go no matter how cold, to a extent that is.

Bridgestone RE-11s handle these temps like a champ compared to the Goodyears but hate ice and dry salt on the road surface. No cracks or chunking though. Good grip on clean cold road surface without the salt.

Surprised a rep hasn't chimed in yet, as they are so quick to chime in about everything else.

The thing is for them to get over 1G handling out of the car they need this soft of a tire and this is just one of the things you have to deal with when you have race tires "summer performance tires" on the car. Now not all summer performance tire go this far but alot of the real soft tires on the market do have the same warnings about running there tire in cold weather conditions.
