Question $4/Gal Gas Prices+Camaro

I know it's all speculation at the moment, but if gas prices really do go over $4/gal this year, how many of you plan on keeping your Camaro?

My Camaro gets better mileage than my 4x4 pickup so no, I'll be keeping my Camaro.

Yes I'll be keeping the Camaro. If push comes to shove, we'll drive my wife's car more on weekends. But I didn't buy the Camaro for mileage and before buying I remembered that gas was already well over $4/gal in the area a couple years ago.

I do not see a hybrid in my future ever. I will keep my 1SS forever. When gas was $4.00 a galon for 93 octane after Katrina, I did not get rid of my 2002 SS. Tell your president to let the oil companies drill our own!

When gas prices hit close to $4 or over $4 back in 2008, I traded in my Bimmer. Worse decision I made because I regretted it for two years. I won't make the same mistake again with this car so the Camaro stays. I'll just have to ride the storm.

$4 dollar gas equates to $1.50 more per gallon than I have been paying since owning my SS. I drive about 300 miles per week and use about 13 gallons @ and additional $1.50 = 19.50 per fillup or 80 bucks a month no bigge to me. Honestly if folks did the math they would not panic about gas prices. I belive that the psychology of $4 gas does more damage to the consumer psyche than the financial damage.

I'll keep mine thanks, as well as my BB offshore boat which gets about 1mi per gallon......LOL It will suck no doubt, but gas will eventually level back down when the government gets out of the way of drilling, that's why it's going up BTW.......

I should have bought a big honkin truck last time we had this happen, everyone was dumping them.....

I live a mile away from work so I'll be walking and taking less trips out in my 1SS. I'd NEVER drive a hybrid! I like my gas-guzzlin' muscle car!!

If you drive a lot it will add up quick. It wont make much difference in my driving since I have a short commute and dont really burn much mileage. (car is 1 yr old and only hit 9k miles yesterday)

I am already paying $3.96 for 90 octane where I live. The SS gets much better gas milage than the 4X4 so yes we will keep it and drive it more than the truck.

Seems strange, we pump the crude oil out of the ground, pump it about 600 miles. Then it gets refinded into gas in North Pole, then hauled 80 miles south to Delta Junction and we are paying more than you guys down in the states.

Oh, I'll keep it. I just won't drive it very much. The trip I planned for May down to Reno will probably be canceled. The one I planed to take later in the summer up to British Columbia will definately not happen. I'll just take it to some cruise-ins around town and stay close to home. But then I'm used to that. My Corvette gets driven on average about 700 miles a year now days.

I agree and I once got caught up in that mentality that paying $4 + was astronomical when really it wasn't that bad on my finances as a whole. Just a matter of me changing the way I drive could offset that price difference.
