Compliments on the car

The other day a young man with a friend complimented me on the white Camaro in a convenience store parking lot. I told him I liked it so much that I bought another one. hahaha

I bring this up because I don't know about you guys, but the vast majority of compliments I get on my cars come from young people - male and female.

I find this interesting. Why is that?

Mine are usually from kids in drive-thrus when I'm picking up my order. Mostly guys.

I get the occasional ones at a gas station.

Mine usually come from people in my age range (mid 40's to 50"s) at traffic lights sitting there with the cam chugging.

I still get frequent compliments. Most come from gas stations, drive throughs, and stops at red lights.

Remember when you were young?

I always let the guys with cool cars know they had something special.

I actually still compliment or give a thumbs up to lots of people on their cool cars or trucks

All good points. And you said "boomer", Ck1984. Drink up!

Why can't a 30-something gal, give me a compliment and follow me home, dammit?

Because once women get some experience, they understand the time commitment hot rods represent. If you are spending your time and money on the car, you aren't spending it on them. I've known several women who won't date gym rats for similar reasons.

As for compliments, I get them mostly from younger guys these days and then older gear heads would be next. My truck actually attracts way more attention, but you get a lot of haters against lifted trucks too. Little kids love them both, but I don't run into a lot of them.

Get a lot of compliments from kids especially at the track . After doing a pass ,I alway roll my window down to reach out and give the kids a high five at the fence infront of the stands .

Take compliments and give them right back. In my experience, most muscle/hot rod guys acknowledge each other on the street.

Yep! And will even challenge you to a rolling launch. I've had that happen twice now. One was a young, Italian guy who talked like he was in the mob or something...haha

I just think it's simply what I say about the CamaroGen5 all the time...... it's just a beautiful piece of engineering. The fact that some of you have stock 2010's, untouched and STILL look great tells the story. Then throw on the great Mods we've all seen on this board and the compliments surprise me. I get compliments from all different age groups or males/females. We all did a great job in choosing this CamaroGen5.
