New iPod Shuffle

Has anyone tried using the new iPod Shuffle in their cars? I seem to be getting errors when its trying to index. Any Ideas. All of my other ipods work, just not the new shuffle.

None of the shuffles behave like other iPods and I'm pretty sure they aren't supported. They don't have the same processing power that the others have to handle the indexing and they just don't interface the same way. You can still use the Aux port and control it like you normally would on the shuffle.

Why bother with popping a shuffle into the AUX? Just get a 32 gb mem stick for $60 and plug it into the USB. Or get a little swanky and get a 64gb mem stick for $125. That would hold my entire 800 CD collection at the highest quality in one stick...

You could shuffle through songs on the steering paddles then.

Assuming there's only 2500 songs on it, yes.

No point in going over 16gb with the 2500 song limit. If all your stuff is 256kbit CBR you could fit over 8000 minutes on it and I doubt your songs are all long enough (or 256kbit CBR) to run out of space before hitting that song number limit.

id also like to know, because you would need the headphones to change the songs and stuff, but shouldnt you be able to control it the same as other ipods if you plug it in using the usb wire? its nice and tiny which i like.

I have had no luck with it so far. I love the form factor of it though. All of my music is in AAC format, im going to try and transfer and convert into MP3 and put them on it like any other usb drive.
