Corvette

I have the opportunity to get out of my 2016 2SS and into a 1LT vette for an extra $ 50 a month. Here is my thought process, I'd appreciate in put and I'd if u think I'm missing anything

Pros:
Marginally better handling?
Marginally better acceleration?
Better mpg
I love that it only has two seats
Targa top is awsome and I plan on using it a lot as long as it can be done semi easily
This may be the last front engine vette
Love that it is a 7spd manual because I love shifting gears often
Love how the cockpit wraps around you and makes you fell like everything is geared towards the driver.

Cons
Insurance 100 more a month
No HUD
I already deleted the mufflers on my camaro and did some small aesthetic stuff I'd "have" to do on the vette.
C8 may be coming out soon leaving me with a previous generation car vs my camaro which I assume will not be redesigned for years
No lighting kit, I really like the red interior lights on my camaro
More cramped for my two dogs

Don't care about:
The fancy stuff like heated sears I have on my 2ss but won't on the Vette
Small trunk

What kind of dogs? We have 3, so I can either haul the 3 dogs or just the SO with no dogs in the SS.

SO?

One is about 30lbs and the other is a dachshund mix. Half the time in my camaro they choose to sit on the front seat together but the other half one is in the front and the other in the back.
Attached is a pic of one in the front seat and a pic of them both in the front seat.

SO - significant other. Hey my pit/lab is that same color white and looks like they shed about the same too! For 50 more a month it would be a toss up really, but you mentioned another 100 a month more in insurance.. I would keep the 2SS. You might not think it's that big of a deal coming from a fully loaded to a base model, but you'd be surprised.

No significant other for me and there never will be, I don't date.

As for the base model...the 1LT vette comes with many things what are options on the camaro, so I'm not too worried about that but will do some more research and thought on what I'd be giving up.
The insurance is what is really getting under my skin :/ But it should drop a good amount in a year or two.

One of the slide shows is of The Bus with some rescue transports in it.

Our dogs are a chow, a huskie and a chuskie (chow chow / huskie mix). The huskie was a rescue and about 6 months later we rescued the chuskie as a playmate.

Both mine r rescues so I'm not sure breed. I like big dogs but have a small house and yard so had to get a medium and little to be fair to them.

I understand about the limitations. We are both supporters and the SO is on the board of directors for Houston Chow Chow Rescue. I have adopted a big cat (Blackie - black leopard) at the National Tiger Sanctuary, too. I don't think it would go well for cat to play with our dogs.

Are you going to be okay with spending $2,000 a year more on a car that will get out run in every way by a 2017 SS 1LE that you could probably trade up to for less money?

Keep in mind the 2017 1LE outran the Z51 Vette by a notable margin with Randy Pobst during this years Motor Trend Best Drivers Car Competition. I'm confident that it would take care of a 1LT even more handily.

To me the only reason to go with the Vette is if you like it better as a status symbol. But I acknowledge that I'm WAY MORE concerned with a car's performance to price ratio than most people. The corvette will be more than enough car for 99.9% of the general population.

The main selling points for me are
Two seater
Lower
Targa
7spd
the way the car wraps around the driver

As for performance...
I don't go to the track so my camaro preforms pretty well for me. If I don't do the Vette I have a gm credit I will spend on the intake and possibly 1LE parts, depending on the cost and which ones they release.
I most likely wouldn't do any of the preformance mods if I didn't have that credit.
