What a horrible feeling. It's one thing to lose a car that you love- but another knowing that someone was scoping out your house and commited a felony. If you can't move, or get a garage, you'll need to do something to better secure your property. Hope things turn out better for you. I think this is the 1st report on the site of a stolen Camaro (5th Gen) that I know of.

I hope you have replacement insurance just in case it is never located. My husband had a brand new SUV stolen from in front of our appartment when we were home (a long time ago). No broken glass. Must have just loaded in onto a flatbed wrecker & drove away. It was never recovered. There was no replacement insurance back then. We paid dearly on that one & he had to wait to save up (luckily could drive a company vehicle) before we could replace it. I hope you have better luck & get yours back soon. Or...................Time for upgrades! Always look for the positive side. BTW.....when he did replace it he drove from the dealer to a place to have the same alarm system that came stock in Lamborghinis, put in his new one. It was never stolen!

I'm really sorry to hear that!!!! wow. Well, hopefully at the very least insurance will give you enough money to pay for a similar car. You may lose money on any mods you made though, unless you called your ins and told them about the mods beforehand.

Not an expert, but I think disabling Onstar would be as simple as putting a metal cover over the Onstar antenna. No need to go through the trouble of messing with wiring.

Seems to me the onstar should have its own battery for the gps locator feature, at least a small one that keeps it alive for a few hours.

I know how you feel, my 2002 Trans Am WS6 was stolen last August. Because of that, I added a separate hidden gps tracker on my camaro so I can track it if onstar is disabled (which any capable thief would do). Good Luck.
