Bypassing the scosche dashkit

I have a Pioneer AVIC8100NEX radio and a jl400 amp installed. What is every one take on this. Would it hurt any thing or the Scosche unit if I connected a switched wire to the red wire. A non switched wire from the battery to yellow wire or constant on. Then connect the amp turn on to the factory amp turn wire.

If you don't hook up the scosche kit at all, say goodbye to your HVAC controls and your steering wheel controls. You also won't have a VSS wire, reverse signal wire, etc which is crucial for the navigation aspect to work, unless you grab that data from elsewhere. But running a constant 12V/ignition wire to the radio shouldn't hurt much.

You also won't have your hazard flashers, as well as no control over any programmed features like door lock programming, length of time headlights stay on after key is removed, etc.

Just curious, if you're so intent on bypassing it, assuming you own the unit, whyd you buy it? Does it not work?

May be I should have been more clear. The only Scosche wire that I would be be disconnecting would the red, yellow and amp turn on. The rest would be still connected to the Scosche unit. From what I seen from the Scosche wiring the only wire that radio is connected to the Scosche is the power and amp turn on.
I was replacing my Kenwood radio to the pioneer radio. I did think it would drain my battery after I had done connecting the radio I went to start the car the dash lights and radio came on but the engine just a click would start dead battery. The scosche unit stayed on but the radio was off. The scoshe even stayed on with the key out. I connected my charger and put on start but the car world not crank over. Went to make sure the charger was connected better connected and the volts was dropping.
I disconnected the Scosch and the volts stopped and started to rise. I let battery charge up. Turned the key on but the radio would not power on.
I was just wondering if I could bypass the scosche since I have it and the radio out.

So, you have either bad wiring or a bad scosche unit. I'd fix the problem instead of trying to bypass it, to be completely honest. When it works right, it works nicely. Who did the install?

I am not going to bypass it. I did the install in May of 2012 and worked ok except getting some different firmware for it. I guess I damaged the Scoche unit when the battery died.

I'd say check your wiring over. Can't hurt and you may find your issue. I can't imagine the battery dying really screwing up much of anything or damaging it unless it overloaded the unit, which our voltage control modules or a fuse would catch regardless

I got the new kit and redid the wiring. I installed the old back and it started to work except if you moved it would turn off. I'll install the new one tomorrow.

If you have any issues, you could PM me and mail me your harnesses and I could do the wiring. I wired my scosche kit up to a pioneer navi unit and it works as it should

I do not think I'll have any problems. I might have to have a new firmware installed.
