There should be only one type of gas and one type of diesel nation wide! It would be so much cheaper over all! It has been sitting at 3.89 for regular here for almost a month. I have never seen gas prices stay steady like this before. I fear its a set up to get people use to these prices so the can start to creap up the prices again.

Been dropping big time here. Those who have been rooting for economic bad news have stopped whining about gas prices for weeks.

I remember in the fall winter of 2008 gas dropped to about $1.55 I remember filling up my suburban with around $30.. Didn't last too long though.. As of right now I'm not too Fazed thanks to driving around in a suburban that gave me about 7mpg. As long as they stay below 4.15 im ok

I was reading this thread from the beginning, just sitting on pins and needles, waiting for someone to drag this comment out. I was getting worried too because since gas has been going down, all of the "it's Obama's fault" people had gotten real quiet lately. I was wondering where the wild accusations that Obama is the reason for high gas prices were and bam, like a savior, you came in to help us out.

Good thing too. for a minute there I thought the world had suddenly realized what every rational person should already know and that is that the President has no direct control over the price of gas. Period. End of story. Go ahead and vote for Romney if you like but it won't change how the commodities market works.

not entirely true. the president can have a significant impact on energy policy, and that effects price. when Bush announced that new leases would be sold in areas off the east coast, the California coast, and the gulf...............oil prices dropped. speculation goes both ways. if it looks as though production will go up significantly, speculators will start selling betting that future prices will be lower.

and conversely, having a president who has shown an unwillingness to increase production will cause speculators to believe prices will rise.

anyhow, to repost what I said earlier, there are only 2 reasons prices are coming down. the dollar is getting stronger because nobody want's to keep euros, and the two largest oil using countries economies (US and China) are slowing, and in the case of the US probably heading for recession. and yes, that has a lot to do with Obama
