Really looking forward to your results Wayne! I am going to have GPI put on the NW 102mm which would be a good opportunity for test data for rwhp, but I am also going to E85, which isn't going to net me much more rwhp but it will still not be truly unbiased.
Sad day as you will have to trade the z/28 intake for one with a coupler. I tried to stretch the rubber tube over the 102 to no avail. I wasn’t going to rip it so I traded for a rotofab.

I cant feel a loss in torque even down low but I attribute that to having the 3.91s still. But I can tell you YES YOU WILL FEEL A DRASTIC CHANGE UP TOP! With the stock throttle body and rod mod intake, at about 6500 you could feel the car fall down where as starting at about 5500+, it just gets better and better.... I can’t wait for the 427 to get here, Id like to set it up to spin eight grand reliably.

Yep, that sounds about right. I didn't notice any TQ loss either, but attribute that to the 3200 stall I had back when we did the manifold swap, now with the 4200-4500 it is amazing and gets up there and pulls like a freight train all the way out the door!! And having the ability to have lots of power way up top is also an amazing feeling, and to be able to do it safely is a blessing. This LOD is a great piece of performance equipment!! I saw a video on here a while back of a shop that ran the LOD on their test engine on an engine dyno and they pulled it all the way to 8600 before they saw a loss in the power curve. So there is more there if you can get it there. And in normal street driving and cruising it acts like a stock intake..

I might cut with an exacto knife and shave away some material

Hey Chris, if you have access to a Dremmel powertool with a cutting bit, or something similar, that would work better and faster. I used one back when I had my Mustang to cut out the rear bumper to put 4" tips in the cutouts. Just a thought.

Thanks Wayne, I'll probably do that

Your still not going to be able to take enough material off, but if you succeed please post because I will go get another one. IMHO it has the best seal against heat and looks better than any other. Except the tube. The tube could be better.

Just an FYI. When I had my car dynoed with the x1 and NW 102 the tuner said the car was starving for air on the top end. They took a 5" intake off a sc car they had and it picked up 14 hp. I had them fab up this 5" cai and again 14 hp over my z28 intake.

Could you not modify the tubing to work with a Z28 intake??

Yes I did and I drove it to the tuner that way. It ran fine.

Wow Clark, that's good to know!! What injectors are you running? I might have to change all this BEFORE I go for a tune.

I’m looking at getting a custom one done for mine, with the nitrous plate the Roto fab keeps popping off and I’m tired of the poor alignment. Can you take a photo of where your MAF is?
