Dyno in Dayton Ohio

I was talking to a shop in Kettering called QuickRev about having a get together. I have have been there for a Diesel Dyno event and had a great time.
They said they would love to host a dyno event for the local Camaro owners all we would have to do is decide on a date.

Sooooo, anyone interested?
They use a Dyno Dynamics load dyno and can dyno with air/fuel graphs.
The owner really impressed me with a good knowledge of tunning the "LS" engines. They use HP Tuners. I know some like EFI Live but i've used HP for a few cars and have good experience with it.

Don't know exact pricing but based on the diesel events was around $70 for 3 pulls $50 for 2.

Dyno

I stopped by that shop and the owner wanted to have a auto L99 car before hand to make sure he can lock the auto into the requested gear and control lockup. He hadn't tuned a 6spd auto only the manual trans. He didn't see it being a problem but if a get together event happens he don't want any unwanted issues.

Masterwinning since your the first auto car to respond would you be willing to make sure on the trans issue.

If so pm me your info and I'll pass it along or set up a time to meet up and go to QuickRev.

I might be interested. The first couple weekends in July are bad for me but otherwise I'm relatively flexible. Whats their shop look like? Their website doesn't have any info/pics.

What would be a good price to have a car tuned on the dyno? I was going to see if they would give anyone that dynoed a deal that scheduled a tune after the get together?

$150-200 with bolt ons only. Supercharged would be $450-$600

I wouldn't get a tune done from a place that doesn't even know if they can lock up a camaro tranny. Sounds like they don't do a lot of cars or maybe just not GM. I'd make the trip the Cincy Speed if I choose to get one done.

And what did their shop look like?

Dyno

It's just a small shop. They had a few nice cars inside.

And he had not tuned a new 6spd auto just the manual trans camaro and vettes.
I wouldn't drive to Cincinnati to dyno when this place is 10mins from me. I've been on other dynos and like how accurate a dyno dynamics dyno is.

Thanks for the suggestion but no thanks.

I wasn't suggesting you go anywhere or do anything. I just said I'd go there for a dyno run but wan't interested in a full tune. You were asking for interest/price in full tunes. Relax.

Relax?......I didn't mean anything bad about any shop in Cincinnti. I just said I wouldn't drive to Cincinnati because a hour or better drive. I've never been to Cincy Speed but QuickRev is just closer.

I've called a few places and to tune a car on the dyno not just a mail-order tune is anywhere from $300-500.

Kook, where did you find dyno tuning for the price you posted?

How's the last weekend in July or first/second weekend in august sound?

Should we keep it Gen5 only or open it to the older Gen's/ Pont. TA and other GM makes Vette/G8/SS T/B? or open to anyone to dyno?

No, I don't have a camaro but live in Dayton and have had work done at a few different places. All I will say is that Dayton doesn't really a reputable dyno tuning shop, just really garages for lack of a better term. Seriously you either have to drive south to Cincy or east to Columbus. THere are at least a couple different shops in each city that are well known and respectable. ANd tunes are really important so I would get it done somewhere that has already tuned probably like 50 camaros or something like that. The drive will be well worth your time, belive me. People experimenting on you car because they have never tuned one before is never a good thing.

That being sid if you set up a dyno day in Dayton and it is open to other types of cars let me know. Always good to get a pull or two for cheap just to make sure everything is where it should be.

It will be a open day for anyone your more than welcome. Had someone mention to me if it was open to anyone please restrict diesel trucks and even though I have a diesel powered play toy I agree. The smoke would be on everthing.
