This is true, but many people on here do other things I would never do too. To each their own.

And weather or not there is any bulge or not, I don't see the issue... Besides cosmetic preferences, I'd put my money on the more "bulgy" looking tire for best performance.

No, larger rim width or correct rim width better for handling, example for the 315s a 10.5 minimum or 11" rim is best.Squished tire on to small of a rim(hense the bulge) will squirm more in cornering and arent as stable. Will the 315 on a 10"rim work, yes, best combo, no.

I get what your saying, and are correct to a point, but I don't know of a racing applications where there more meaty tires aren't used and low profiles are. Better grip, and more forgiving. I'll take a slight /no bulge vs the stretched look.

And in the 275's as correct on a 10" I'd say bs, as that is the correct fitment for a 9". A 295 would be perfect for a 10"

275 on a 9 is good, on a 9.5 I hear is better. A 295 on a 10 is o.k. unless you are running a wide tire like a michelin PSS Ferrari spec tire which is 12" wide.I am now running those tires in a 285/35 on a 10 rim as 1Ie and they do very well in auto x.Auto x and road course I dont see bulged tires, or I should say tires fitted to a rim to small for the tire size.At the drag strip yes thats what you want. And of course at the upper end of wheel fitment and size where you can get more rubber on the rim and still clear everything, more rubber can be better, in auto x
anyway.
As to stretched look, the tire is more responsive, but you have to like the look, and at that point I would rather have more meat on the ground

I had 275/315 Invo's on my 20x8.5" and 20x10" when I had my SS. No issues with rubbing and it was flush. Minimal budging too with the Nitto Invo since they ran narrower than others.
