We just bought our latest Camaro. My good friend and mechanic of 30 years strongly advised against the V-6, so we only looked at the SS models. I drove an '11 and liked it ok, but ended up with a '14. We both really liked the refreshed looks and the info screen with the backup camera. Plus, the '14 still has some factory power train warranty left.

My wife and I are 60ish and it's been a few years since we've owned a sporty car. We REALLY like this Camaro. Definitely the fastest thing we've ever owned. It's a 3rd vehicle for us (Suburban Z/71 and Tacoma TRD Off Road) and will be driven occasionally to work, but mostly just a weekend toy.

'74 Camaro Sport Coupe, '79 Z/28, '91 RS, '86 Mustang GT, '79 Corvette L48, '79 Corvette L82

The 6 Gen handles like it's on Rails it will blow your mind the way it handles

I also throw this because I see you're looking for a V6 in your current driver and the V6 in the 6th gen is a whole new animal that needs to be driven to be understood

Just something else to consider not that there's anything wrong with the fifth gen Camaro they're absolutely awesome machines but the 6th gen is pretty awesome too
THIS ^^^^^
If you truly want/need a V6, the 6th Gen would probably be a cheaper payment.....

i guess it would be foolish to drive 5th and 6th gens,v-6 and v-8,and decide what suits you best, but thats what i did.wound up with a 2015 v-6 RS.it has all the toys and is as fast as i need it to be.now if youre gonna race every night, get the v-8.if youre only going to put your foot in it once in a while the six is fine.

2013 & up V6 is fine; better priced tires, regular gas & milage, and cheaper insurance. Go with your gut. The gearheads here won't pony up $$ for your ride so get what suits you.

At the risk of turning this into a V6 / V8 thread, sure a V8 would be cool - if someone could just point me to the free money machine, I will be on my way. I rarely get to open up the V6 around here as it is with traffic and revenue agents watching...
This was my thought process as well (V6 vs V8).

Thank you, 13LT. My whole point of getting a V6, was to offset my 2010 Challenger R/T Classic. In twelve months, I had put 20K miles on her, and that was with driving our daughter's Camry and the wife's Sienna on most weekends. I have a long commute. Also, I was paying cash (not wanting another car payment), so I was either getting a really good V6, or a marginal V8.
I am not into the V8 - V6 war. That is fine for kids, but tends to get stupidly expensive. And as mentioned by another, I don't see anyone forking over the difference in cost. This was supposed to be about V6s. Hell, if I was serious about power and speed, I would get a Hellcat.
Thanks for steering me away from the 2010 I nearly bought. That would have been trouble.
I did get a 2013 manual LT, and she is just perfect.

Okay Mister Moderator. You can lock this one up.

thanks,
