Couple of the Supras need a new paint job but overall they look good. When a 15-20yr old car still looks good today I think it's a good design. Same goes for the old Mitsu 3000GT. Saw one ther other day and it still looks good. Same with lots of old Vettes.

Yeah I woulda loved to see some pics of that R34. Bad call picture taking guy...............

And yeah I love Supras also. A guy down the block has one (No mods or anything, but the turboed version) and it is nice. Still a very modern looking car and it's 10 years old.

There is some for with the function for sure, but yeah I had 4" from the turbo back on mine with a pretty mild-sized turbo. If they're running a large turbo 5" all the way back is not unthinkable.

They can be converted to US standards, it's just so expensive most people don't bother with it.

If their exhaust is truly that large then it hardly sounds like a street car. Plus the way I see it, you would get just as much performance from a simple tip at the end of whatever large diameter pipe your using. I understand that looks are subjective, and if that is their style then whatever, but I'm tired of some ricers trying to convince me that the "can" look is strictly performance, because the same amount of flow can be accomplished other ways.

How do you figure? There's thousands of single-turbo Supras on the streets, and hundreds with larger turbos. Not the most practical but not uncommon.

I'm not sure what you mean by "you would get just as much performance from a simple tip at the end of whatever large diameter pipe your using"...that would be basically an open-header exhaust and would be obnoxiously loud for daily driving. It's a performance muffler, just at the end of the exhaust instead of the middle like the US cars do.

In other words, arguing that the can is pointless is no different than telling a streeted hotrod that his mufflers are pointless. They perform a function of muffling some of the exhaust without restricting the air like a stocker does.
