Upgrading your L99
What are the best things I can do at the moment with very little money to really wake up my L99 2011 SS Camaro. I just don't feel like it's "quick" enough. Feels really laggy at times, any suggestions would be great.
ALSO, I tend to do a lot of racing, so any tips would help such as

nitrous, stall, drag radials. nothing is going to pull you further into to go fast situations you're after on a budget. speaking of which, how much can you spend (per month or ect on racing?).

Nothing. The best bang for your buck would be a tune and a tranny tune as the A6 highly benefits from both. However you say you have very little money to work with so, i'd do neither as they would probably klll off your warranty.
From a dig all my best times are with all nannies off and launching around 1k RPM. From a roll on a stock A6 it really depends on speed, RPM's and other factors. You are basically relying on it to downshift to 2nd and when it doesn't. It won't pull as hard and will seem slow and laggy. You could always force it to by paddle shifting. If you still want to play anyhow then intake, headers and tunes would benefit you alot.

A CAI Inc intake, scoop, and washer tank relocation would be a good place to start as far as unleashing more power goes.
Whoosh! Like daveagogo1 mentioned, the A6 benefits greatly from tuning. And there are some key points in the suspension that need attention and make a big difference when launching the car. |

very little money is hard man. more seat time and save up for the basic bolt ons and a tune afterwards so you arent paying for multiple tunes for just bolt on stuff.
alignment, tire psi, and seat time are about as inexpensive as it can get since 2 of those are free.

So maybe the ADM CAI, scoop, and ww relocation would be a good place to start?
I want to hear from others how they started and the difference they could tell in their car when they added stuff to it. |

The best way to take advantage of it all is get your cold ai intake of your choice, some long tube headers and tune it. I started with a vararam, Flowmaster 3" catback w/ center mount exhaust and kooks 1 7/8 headers and tuned it a few days later. This was within weeks of delivery in 2010 and its all good.

CAI yes, tuning is the biggest thing you can do to the l99 to help it out
one of our stg 1 or 2 kits will really wake it up with the tuning also Last edited by east TX Muscle cars; 05-30-2013 at 05:03 PM. |

It's just.. since I got my car I was pleased with how fast it was but the longer I've had it, and as my daily driver (1 1/2 years) I really need it to be faster. I would love to have one of the fastest cars around here.

Nice place to start! Then add a tune! The transmission tune alone will make your car feel like a muscle car should come factory! Next mod would be headers and some hi flow cats!
