C5Fest 2: Las Vegas Convoy?

Well, it's official: We're going to C5Fest II!!!

Just made the car reservation, I'll be calling the Tempe InnSuites to see what their rates are with the group discount. Otherwise I'll be making the reservations online later today for our Hotel. Can't make the Thursday convoy though, we'll be leaving early Friday morning. I want to be there when the gates open but we'll probably get in around 10am. Can't wait to see everyone there!

Update on our trip to Chandler, AZ!

We will have two groups leaving out on Thursday morning to convoy down to the speedway. The first group will be leaving @ 7am from The Orleans back parking lot by the arena. I am encouraging everyone to be there by 6:45am for a drivers meeting. We will be hooking up with the Utah and British Columbia group as well at this location. We will be leaving at 7am sharp.

The second group will be meeting at the Railroad Pass on the 95. This group will be leaving around 7:30am when we pass them as we are hitting 95 south towards Searchlight. Please be there no later than 7:15am for their drivers meeting. This group will be hooking up with the first group.

We will stop in Searchlight, Needles and Parker for gas/snacks/potty breaks. Once we get to Quartzsite we will get lunch and gas up. This is where we will be meeting up with the SoCal group. From there we will caravan the 2 1/2 hours to Chandler them. I will reach out to Comm1 and see where she wants us to meet them and what their lunch plans are. We may have to split up for lunch since there will be a whole lot of us. Details to come soon!

Here's where we'll meeting up after we fuel in Quartzsite.

I spoke to the Quartzsite Chief of Police today and he thought the best spot in town would be at the east end and at the intersection of Mockingbird St. at Riggles Ave. (the area in red) Exit 19. There's an AM/PM here with a new back lot for trucks but they don't carry diesel fuel yet. I spoke to the manager (Gary) and he gave us permission to use the lot as a meeting point while we wait for the others to fuel.

The Chief also offered us any traffic control that we may need to get us back onto the freeway. So between AZ DPS running us a traffic break and slowing/stopping all eastbound I-10 traffic and the locals hooking us up....

Looks like we're all set!!

So if your group shows up first, someone will need to make contact with AM/PM
