We have the splitter washers for the Z28 now to protect the splitter from rubbing on dips or hills.

Can you post the "CSDS Form" mentioned? "Additionally, the CSDS form has important customer education pieces that we have learned during our Captured Test Fleet process. "
See if this link works, I haven't posted a pdf before. The first page is the PDI form, the second is the CSDS form that the customer should review with the sales consultant when picking up their new Camaro.

2014 Camaro 04-04-14 r1.2.pdf

And brake burnishing procedure described in PIC5981 as published in the owners manual:

Z/28 Brake Burnishing
Caution: These procedures are specific to the Z/28 with ceramic brake rotors. These procedures should not be run on other Camaro models as damage may result.

Caution: The new vehicle break-in period should be completed before performing the brake burnish procedure or damage may occur to the powertrain/engine. See New Vehicle Break-In.

When performed as instructed, these procedures will not damage the brakes. During the burnishing procedure, the brake pads will smoke and produce an odor. The braking force and pedal travel may increase. After the procedure is complete, the brake pads may appear white at the rotor contact.

Street High Performance Brake Burnishing Procedure

Perform this procedure on dry pavement only and in a safe manner and in compliance with all local and state ordinances/laws regarding motor vehicle operation.

 1. From a stop, accelerate as rapidly as possible without activating traction control to a speed of 100 km/h (60 mph).
 2. Use enough pedal force to completely stop the vehicle in four to five seconds. If ABS activates, braking is too hard.
 3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 five times. This should take about 10 minutes.
 4. After completing the five stops, cool the brakes by driving for 8 km (5 mi) at 100 km/h (60 mph).
As with all high performance brake systems, some amount of brake squeal is normal.

Racing/Track Brake Burnishing Procedure

To prepare the Z/28 brake system for track events and racing, the street high performance brake burnish as described previously should be completed.

In addition to completing the street high performance brake burnishing procedure, the following procedure needs to be completed to make the Z/28 brake system ready for track events and racing.

This procedure should only be run on a track and only on dry pavement.

Caution: Brake pedal fade will occur during this track burnish procedure and can cause brake pedal travel and force to increase. This could extend stopping distance until the brakes are fully burnished.

 1. Drive a normal first lap, not too aggressively.
 2. Laps 2 and 3 should be gradually driven faster and more aggressively, while allowing for reduced brake output and increased stopping distance due to brake fade.
 3. Drive Lap 4 near full speed, while allowing for reduced brake output and increased stopping distance due to brake fade.
 4. Laps 5 and 6 should be cool down laps.
 5. Lap 7 should be normal driving or an easy out lap.

Perfect! Thanks a bunch!

Do you by chance know anything in regards to availability of the wickerbill?

Really appreciate what you've posted here (all of it), thanks again!

The catalog lists a UPF48R ,not a PF64 as mentioned above . I also see that there is a spearate oil cooling radiator. There is also 2 large, electric radiator fans. One mounted on either side of the radiator and or condensor.

Update on the wickerbill...

I know it's been posted that the number from SEMA was 23200132, but in the parts catalog today, it lists the part number as 23200130 with a list price of $325.00.

Still no release date though.

But I'll just mention that splitter probably costs like $100. It's a Chevy not a Porsche, and you won't get the financial anal-raping you are used to. Just consider it a replacement item, piece of cake!

And I fully expect the Z/28 to be no worse clearance-wise, if not a bit better than our GT3's

PS- long trailer ramps are your friend!
HaHa your kidding right, $100. The 1LE splitter is around $700. Cant wait to see what these "Chevy" parts are actually gonna run.

If the wickerbill is $325, I think it's safe to say the splitter will be at least double that...

@lehman, my ferrari was just as low as my GT3 but had much lower front overhang = a lot fewer problems. Short front overhang on the z from pics best I can tell.

Splitter I would say over $1200. It has 2 braces in it also, it's not just plastic. You can stand on it. I saw it up close. The cost will be high because of economy of scale, not allot made.

Let's say for now that the splitter costs a grand. Though not cheap by any measure, that's still not a ton of money when you look at what the Rest of The World charges for very well-designed and well-made parts for such a limited production run.

The Z/28 team didn't just stick something on the front and call it a day. The splitter is a key part of the aero package, and is built in a way that it should be very durable. Major kudos to the team for not using carbon fiber on ANY of the aero bits, as that not only escalates cost but also renders damaged parts unrepairable. Any body shop will be able to fix minor damage to the Z/28 parts -- but anyone with a GT3 or AMG Black Series with carbon fiber on the front of the car can testify what a terrible choice CF parts are for serious track use. At least in places, like the splitter, where wear and damage are inevitable...
