Having issue finding a tire that will fit and look great.. help

hi bought a set of tsp valencia wheels. they are 20z8.5 in the front and 20x10 in the rear. i don't wanna run my stock tires because they won't fit on the rear as well as i would like so I'm buying new all around. the tire shop is saying they can't find any tires bigger than a 275 that will clear the car in the rear and have a tire size that will fit the front as well. I'm getting very annoyed. please help with tire sized makes and styles of some tires please, I'm lost...

Taken from the Tire sticky in this section

Recommended 20" tires for 2010 Camaro
245/45-20 = 28.7" tall, 8.0-8.5 wheel
255/45-20 = 29.0" tall, 8.0-8.5 wheel
265/40-20 = 28.4" tall, 8.5-9.0 wheel
275/40-20 = 28.7" tall, 9.0-9.5 wheel
285/40-20 = 28.9" tall, 9.0-10.0 wheel
295/35-20 = 28.1" tall, 9.5-10.5 wheel
305/35-20 = 28.4" tall, 10.0-10.5 wheel
315/35-20 = 28.7" tall, 10.5-11.0 wheel

I don't think it's possible to run the same tire on all four corners.

Put your stock rear tires in the front and buy 315/35/20 for the rear.

You don't think there will be any clearance issues with bumps etc?

The 275/40 fits a 10" wheel just fine. Is the shop saying that there is clearance issues due to incorrect wheel offsets or what?? The widest rec tire for a 10" wheel is a 305/35

I have 275/40-20 BFGoodrich Comp 2 in rear and they seem wider than the P-zeros.

When buying wheels you should ALWAYS check first to see if the tires you want will work with them. The problem you have with those particular size wheels is finding the right sizes in the same brand/model of tire. After a quick search through Tire Rack I could find the right size for the front, or the back but not both in the same brand/model. Mixing brands and/or models is not a good idea either.

For the front you want a 245/35-20 which is designed for an 8.5" wide rim, and for the back you want a 285/30-20 which is designed for a 10" wide rim. Both of those tire sizes have an outside diameter (OD) of 26.7" however the lower profiles are going to leave quite a gap between the tires and the wheel well.

The only high performance summer tire I could find that has both those sizes is the Falken FK452 (the top and bottom listing):
Name: Falken 452.jpg
Views: 765
Size: 103.0 KB

You can try and squeeze other sizes which would cover the rim width but then you still have the problem of a bit too wide or too narrow and also the OD. You don't necessarily want a 1" difference in height between the fronts and the backs. And even if you can get odd sizes to fit, you still have to get an alignment that will work with them.

My advice would be to see if you can return the wheels and then do a search for the tires you want first, then get wheels to fit them.

I did a little research and found a yokohama Advan S.T. tire and it comes in a 245/45/20 for the front and tons of sizes for the rear that i feel i could choose from to fit.
Heres the link to the website and it shows all the sizes. Let me know what you think

That may be a discontinued tire; I went to Yokohama's website and that tire isn't listed.

Keep in mind you should get a tire with an XL load rating for these cars because of their weight.

Tire Rack recommends a 275 for the rear on a 20x10, so that leves your options wide open, I'd just run PZeros

I was thinking that to but saw a picture of a guy that's ran stock tires with the wheels I got and it pulls on the sidewalls making the rim lip stick way outside the tire,
