Sorry, LOWDOWN, Kate Beckinsale, aka Selene is already the poster girl for ZL1.

C7 can't have her.

Milla and/or Charlize could definitely ruin my entire life without even trying.

Very nice.

I hope the hidden door opening mechanism in the ELR and Corvette finds its way on to the next Camaro. Door handles scream old school.

And who kidnapped Pete?

ELR looks nice for people that like that kind of thing. It's a really cool car for someone else to drive.

I'm still drooling and trying to decide which kind of Chevy Z car I want most.

Three days ago I couldn't have imagined there would be a question.

...well with what they did to the new Vette, it might be worth waiting a bit longer to find out what's up their sleeve Z wise. Things are growing by leaps and bounds.

Send a message via AIM to Mr. Wyndham
Bob Lutz says the new Corvette was the first car they've done that he had very little to do with. That speaks volumes!

I like the fact they inhoused the frame manufacturing process. I believe keeping things here will give better quality control and make a better final product. I was intrigued how the wall thickness varies at key areas to increase structural strength. Space age manufacturing processes and material incorporated throughout. Go GM! Despite how impressed I am with the new Vette, and I think it's the best designed one ever, I am in love with my ZL1 till "Z" we part....perhaps...., but not for the Vette. It's a Camaro thing.

Dana did a pretty nice job for us on the Z06 frame. But agreed it is a good thing to do it in house. Previously there were some limitations at BG that prohibited doing 100% aluminum let alone doing it in the body shop. A major step for the car.

That was the part I was most impressed with as well. Variable thickness for the exact balance of stiffness and stability versus the safety and weight savings of a thinner area that can absorb crash impact.

Win - Win

... and they do it with LASERS !

for grins:
