Another great Avis rental experience! I'm in love

The wife and I rented a 2SS/RS. All I have to say is "holy s**t"! I absolutely love this car. My wife wasn't into it, and was pissed that we had to spend $150+ on a rental. Once we pulled into the Avis lot, her jaw dropped. Now she wants a Camaro almost as bad as I do. We also met up with another Camaro5 member who doesn't own the car yet. We were like kids in a candy shop. good times but now the non-owner depression is setting in. Oh well, I will own one eventually.

Great moments:
- pulled upto another 2ss/rs on the GS Parkway. We kinda went bonkers waving at them, and they did the same. Haha! What a great comradery between owners.

-alot of gawkers. Feels cool! Alot of comments

-a Srt-8 Charger blew by me on the GSP then slowed down. I pulled up next to him doing about 50mph and dropped the hammer. Let's just say he didn't want to race again. Haha!

-saw 3 Camaro's on the road while driving the SS. The Camaro is a
magnet for other Camaros.

-Kids love waving at the Camaro. I'm glad the new generation is starting to like American cars again.

I had butterflies in my stomache that whole 24 hours. I want that perma grin!

Sounds like you had a ton of fun. I can't wait to own one myself.

Such a fun 24 hours. I cant articulate how much I love this car.

[edit] also I'm 6'3" and fit in the car perfectly. Plenty on head space, lots of leg room. The seats are super comfy! Overall an extremely solid car.

HAHHAHA. yep. i was also there with my pal ... and his wife.
it was incredible. (thats my monte SS in the pic!).... im a V8 monger and this was my 3rd time in the 2SS RS,... a perfect fit. a natural progression and yet still a monster. we had smooth cruisin, and when we wanted it - raw POWER.
im repeating myself by saying how amazing this car is... but...
it is. and i cant wait. i DO have to wait ($$$), but im on my way and it will be well worth it.

CHEERS to CAMARO and to new, awesome friends.

V

I wish we didn't booz it up. I'd woulda rather went cruising. It's a shame for that SS to just sit there all night.

It was $150 a day plus tax and insurance. Final cost was $190 for 24 hours. Totally worth it. Considering I've never sat in one, it was waaaay better than any test drive.
We went cruising, we muscled it around, we just sat in it.

damn more excitment then me. and i own one.

the only excitment i had was when crusing to a buddys house warming party i had the old gt mustang well 2000 model i believe yo yo'ing me and going in and out of the car pool just to get next to me. then would slow down gun it pass me and slow down. so i finally opend her up. looked around saw a nice gap on right lane of high way then another back into my normal lane looked for clearance. and while doing that a honda was racing a tc which i saw coming up from rear view mirror in the 2nd lane couldnt miss the hondas loud exhaust. ok back to what happend. turned blinker on droped 3rd and was gone, hit 4th and smashed again until i saw 120mph on the speedo and let off. remember i was only doing 65.

lets just say i whooped that honda who was already moving and showed that stang who was boss. lol but he cought up and just kept giving me a thumbs up. so i waived back. thats all my fun. now i am still waiting 5 months for me to have my car done.

FYI.. and I am not preaching... I HATE THAT TOO... but watch the f bombs, some don't take kindly to it. I said the "s word" and some one changed it to "stuff"

Good stuff none the less!! Keep it up and the car is amazing isnt it. I can only assume it was an L99... you should try an LS3. I know it isnt MUCH faster but its such a good feeling to row your own boat... after you take out the slush box shifter GM put in and toss on a skip shift eliminator... Oh la wee.... Good stuff!
