Great time. The Z/28 is very consistent.

Haha, well I wish I could claim a podium finish but Baylor, brt3 and Mustang were closer. I had later changed my time to...
The Z/28 impresses, beating the C7 Z51 Vette. Awesome track machine!

While it is very impressive to see the Z/28 beat the Z51, I see it as impressive that the Z51 is only .4 behind the Z/28 on Laguna Seca....and it also scares me to think how fast the C7 Z06 will be haha

Can't wait to hear Randy's in-depth report on the Z/28!

Got this comment off the posts in the MT lap of the Z/28:
Jeffrey Williams 11:17 1 Reply Z28 has lapped about 2 sec slower. Driver did say at corner 9 no car has ever had such grip at this point. The braking at the last corner is epic in Z28. Battle is between the Z28 and Porsche I do agree. He has already made points on NISMO on track last month. Some good and some bad. He mentions NISMO Dunlops are a let down on track. Even states it could be faster with a better tire. Should have those Dunlops on the 911 Turbo S for track work. I see Porsche used the GT3 tires. The tire thing is closer then many think. Z28 and 918 tied highest G ever in tightest corner at VIR track. Car and Driver have there yearly test at VIR. The Cup2 tires on 918 are not as aggressive say the new Z06. Corvette Cup2 tires are about half slicked. Just on looks do seem more aggressive then Trofeo R's. Z06 tires are rated at 80 vs 60 tread on R's. The tire debate will have to wait until Z06 does some track work.

My time was way off, I was guessing low 1:35. I based it off how well it did at VIR. Lol, that lightning lap is bogus unless they retest every car after the repaving.
Shame on me for giving the z28 a benefit of the doubt! |

Just for clarification of how fast you can lap Laguna Seca. In 2013 MotoGP raced there and the lap time for Marc Marquez was 1’21.568!!!

It's obvious that Laguna Seca is much more designed to favor a better power-to-weight ratio. Whereas VIR compliments the vehicles handling capabilities more.
I would guess the Z/28 loses ground on the LS uphill climbs.

It sure appears that way to me too. Looking at the quickest lap times, the list is dominated by Vipers, Corvettes and similar high power-to-weight ratio cars. Different cars shine at different tracks, Seca may not be the Z/28's best showcase for what it can do. It's still a very respectable lap time.
