got two from gm parts now, $322, shipping was about $15, had coupon code for 1/2 off on order over $200. I bought 2 so I would have another if this new one broke. Had read where some one went through 3 or 4.

Also ordered from GMpartsnow.
They were the only place that had a good shipping cost.

Only 40 here now so tomorrow looks better to start taking things apart.

It's a big box, mine was 6'x3.5'
Not to thick but real big.

Are you going to take the whole top out to do the repair ??????

Mine is 2012 so it is a little different and I think I will have to take the whole top out of the car.

Hi folks, just joining this forum. I used this thread to fix my bent bow 5 brackets the first time it happened to me. That was 4 months ago, about a month after purchasing my 2011 Camaro SS. I figured I was good with the 'upgraded' brackets, but now I've got bent brackets again, only 4 months later.

Does anyone have any experience to share with reinforcing the bow 5 brackets? I expect mine will fail again and so next time I plan to be ready with reinforced brackets. It's a tight area so I don't want to add any reinforcements that compromise the operability of the top by creating clashes.

make sure that the. adjustable stops for the 5th bow that attach to the body at the forward edge of the trunk are not too low. That would cause excess pressure on top frame when top is up. Adjust stops up to relieve pressure.

I had mine fixed by the dealer two years ago, and no problems since then. I would have to believe the reason yours is acting up again is because your repair did not result in a true fix. These can be tricky, therefore I would suggest leaving it to a professional service team member. Yes, I realize that some don't know how to fix it either, but that's where your warranty comes in after paying for the repair. I would also inquire if any service members have done this repair before. Make some phone calls to various chevy dealers. Go to where they say "Yes, we have someone who has done that repair." Quite honestly, doing it yourself might save you money, but not time or headaches afterwards. You get what you pay for.

Thank you.
