Big mistake with chamois
OK, was washing my ride yesterday and made the mistake of wiping down the vert top with my chamois to clear the water. Now I have chamois residue all over it. Any ideas on how to remove? Soft brush, stiff brush, hose it down?? Any and all suggestions welcome.

I use a soft brush to get anything off mine.

Order in on 13' ZL1 vert

Vacuum with a brush end or a large lint brush (those mutant wide lint brushes).
Don't use a crazy strong shop vac and use a lite / quick brushing stroke and it works nice. Been doing this for years on my fabric top and it doesn't bring the nap/hair up on it at all. |

big fan of the 3m tape lint roller on the top. Now toss your chamois and spend 30 bucks on an electric leaf blower to dry your car. Keep those swirl marks off the paint! Check out junkman's 2 bucket wash method on youtube. Some great info. This car has turned me into an anal-retentive ass when it comes to keeping it nice and shiny

Thanks to all for their advice. I went down to Walmart and bought the giant lint roller for pet and auto use and that did the trick. It took several changes of the sticky stuff but it did work and the top is nice and black again. I also bought a leaf blower while at Walmart and will give the blowdrying a try as well so no more chamois. Maybe the wife will even see me using it for the leaves...

I use a synthetic chamois called the absorber works fantastic, no residue and drys the top so I can put it down right away. Been using one just for the top for years.

Duct tape works great if you have 2 people. One on either side, press, peel, and move to the next section. Good for dryer lint, dog hair, and anything hard to pick up. Like a lint roller on steroids.
