Anyone using the USB for music?
I don't have an IPOD so I was thinking of loading up some of my favorite songs onto a USB memory stick. I purchased an 8GB stick but I haven't loaded any music on it yet. I'm new to downloading music online so maybe someone can give me some tips on how to do it...please. How many songs can you put on an 8GB stick?
Has anyone used a USB stick to download music to play in their Camaro? If so, how does it work? When you plug the memory stick in does it automatically recognize it? Can you choose which songs from the memory stick you want to hear? Russ |

I am using a 4GB Ipod nano and it carries maybe 10hrs of music. The interface on the IPOD is excellent. I don't persoanally know about a stick but most people here says it works good.

Can you control the ipod from the deck to skip songs and search playlists or do you still have to control it from the ipod itself?

I loaded up 11 CD's on to the USB stick, it took less than 1 hour rip them all. I plugged the memory stick into the USB port and it recognized it immediately. What a great option, you can search by song name or artist name, or you can choose random play or search by music type.
How can I download songs if I don't have the CD to download from? Russ |

Yes, but make sure it's not iTunes because they use an uncompressed music file and it will not work on a USB Flash Drive. (iTunes Plus songs can be converted but you lose quality by compressing them into mp3 format.)
