We were stopped on Bitters in SA for no front plate. The cop was explaining that we should have had the dealership put it on, but when we told him that they wouldn't do it on after market GFX, he gave us a warning. He told us the ticket for a missing plate on the front in TX is $200.

Posted on this a few days ago about not getting a ticket and sure enough, on the fourth, we were driving through Martindale and DPS pulled us over. I explained that the car did not come with one so he let me off with a warning. This makes 5 or 6 times I've been pulled over for no front plate and still no tickets. I'm crossing my fingers that the streak continues because I just can't stand a front plate; and I have a black car.

I ended up going to Home Depot and getting the following:

2 x 3/8 x 4 toggle bolts
1 pack of 3/4 heat shrink
2 x 5/8 cut washers

I put the heat shrink on the wings of the toggle bolts to protect the back of the grill. I then flipped the front license mount over and mounted it to the lower grill with the toggle bolts like mentioned elsewhere. It looks good, costed about $13, and I didnt have to drill the bumper.

I saw another post on front plates awhile back and their was someone who posted a pic of a Camaro with a front plate that looked like a sticker it was from TX. I saw it here on the forum and did a search and can't find it now. Just wondering if thier is anything like this, if their is I think it would solve alot of our problems.

I told the sales guy when I bought the car do not install the front license plate mount. I will be responsible for any tickets.
The wife drops off the car for its PDI and repeats my instructions to the service advisor and when she gets home the front bracket is installed.
The dealership bought me a new bumper.
I have not had any problems with no front tag and I've had the car almost a year now.

It still looks like a front plate..........

All that does is give the next owner a hole free bumper, but does nothing for the current owner he still has that front plate look........

I encourage everyone to sign this petition ... I was talking to a police officer that was admiring my Camaro in a parking lot and he reminded me I was supposed to have a plate on front. As we stood in front of the car I pointed and asked him "If this was your car ... where would you drill holes". He nodded and said he would never ticket a Camaro owner for no plate. Again, sign the petition. It was fast and easy and who knows, maybe it will work.

I saw it here on the forum and did a search and can't find it now. Just wondering if thier is anything like this, if their is I think it would solve alot of our problems.
