What vehicle did you drive in your highschool teen years?
I was just remenising my first ride from the highschool years and thought it would be interesting to see what you all first drove in your teen years. Be sure to mension the year in time, vehicle year, make, mods, issues, etc. Go crazy .
1989: I got my driver's license @ 16 years old and my parents bought me a brand new 1989 Ford Escort Gt 5 speed in bright red for my first car. I installed coilspring clamps to lower it. I painted all the interior lighting and white lettering in the dash with a red permanent ink pen. I painted the inside of the cutouts in the 15" silver alloy wheels red like the car. Most importantly, I added a 1,000 watt flea market Pyrmid amp (200 actual watts) and 4 Realistic 12" subs from Radio Shack. I listened to Beasty Boys and all loud bass musics, no highs, only loud distorted bass . I never took pics of the car but it looked like this one only red Last edited by midnighter; 11-19-2010 at 02:25 PM. |

I had a 1991 red Formula with a 165hp TBI 305 in 2000 when I was a Junior. Then this 1992 GTA 5.7 for the very last part of senior year.

The pic is basically it... it had the optional factory hood with turn signals, the GT fog lights, different wheels, and badging. Dark moss green 1967 Mustang GT S-Code. I found it when I was 15 online. We went up to take a look at it and brought it home that same day. Sits in our barn now having some resto work done (thanks dad). It had a 302 in it when we got it... Dome-topped pistons, a Holly 4 barrel carb, decent cam, would wrap up over 6k RPM. The only real performance mod it got was a 750cfm Edelbrock. Eventually we would start preparing a 390 (still waiting to go in). It's pretty odd... I would become the teenager people would call whenever there was a question about early model mustangs from doing so much research on it. |

Feet and then after my license, a 1993 Chevrolet Corsica, with the 3.1 V6 FI engine. Fun little car for what it was.

Drivers Permit 1971. License in 1972.
In high school: 1955 Ford F-100 sky blue, 223 c.i. 6 cylinder, three on the tree, with an overdrive unit. Truck was in mint condition. Sold it for a 1972 Ford F-100 240 c.i. 6 cylinder. My Dad would not buy an eight cylinder because he thought I would race it and he wanted decent gas mileage. Little did he know! I put Viper Headers on the 6 and upgraded ignition and such... 1974... Just out of high school saved my money and bought my first hot rod... 1966 Chevelle SS 396, 4m, 12 bolt posi... the mods immediately began. Added an open chambered 427 and had a field day with 540 horses and a 11.5 at the dragstrip. 2 years later SCORE.... My Hugger Orange (see avatar) 1969 Camaro SS 396, turbo 400, 12 bolt, gears from the Chevelle transplanted... e.t. 12.0 in quarter mile in street trim. Those were the days and it was all good. Fast cars, fast women and an empty wallet! Hey you you guys gotta remember they were just coming out with the "Muntz" 8 track audio cassette and everyone listened to AM rock and roll then! "93 KHJ...Los Angeles" LOL

I had a 72 ford maverick , I bough it in April of 98' a couple months after my 16th bday. It was powder blue with gold stripes that were peeling, since everything was original. For my senior project I helped prep it to be painted. After the paint job it was midnight blue with white rally stripes, white mirrors and hood scoops and white around the taillights , it looked pretty awesome.

A 1994 dark green Eagle Talon. It was brand new at the time. Had saved all my money for a year to put down on it. Fast forward 2 yrs later flipped it over and totaled it
