What do you mean about the brake lights being small LEDs? Just looks like standard LEDs behind textured plastic diffusers to reduce the look of individual LEDs visible by non diffused LEDs. That horizontal bar through the center of the lights may be something interesting. Could be the tail lights or turn signals.

If we look at the current Camaro lineup the only models with a wing like that are convertibles and the SS model. If this is carried through then it would suggest that the SS Camaro will retain the 6 speed manual and the engine revisions for the 6.2L engine (there are revisions coming) means a 7,000rpm red line.

Alternative is that lesser models will get that spoiler, maybe a 2.0T 1LE model Camaro which has been hinted at.

The mule does not have SS emblems on the steering wheel and not the red plate on the gearknob. So maybe it's the new entry-level V8 according to the quad tips?

Rumor is a 7000 rpm red line in order to increase output a bit to compete with 2018 mustang HP numbers. Wouldn't be a huge effort to increase the red line. Mainly a cam change and timing.

The car in the picture is a V6 car, reverse location, no SS on the steering wheel and 7k redline with NPP quad tip exhaust. The wing would be a 1LE .

Havent heard that rumor. The 2019 C7 corvette is already being built and sold, no HP increase on the LT1.

Guys I hope you aren't getting these rumors from that one pic of the dash. It is obviously a LGX or LTG dash and there is zero proof on the outside of that car that it is anything but a RS package with NPP. So please stop with the rumors unless you have something not based on those pics.

Carry on...

Did the C7 LT1 adopt dynamic skip fire or is it using the same AFM?

I don't think they've added any tech to the LT1/LT4. Pretty much the same with the focus on the ZR1.

This.

A few other things to consider about GM’s approach to Camaro.
  1. GM isn’t chasing market share / sales race with Mustang. No doubt they would like to win that and will make note of every month that Camaro outsells Mustang, but will not make heroic efforts to finish first.
  2. GM is not concerned about matching Mustang (or Challenger) hp-to-hp. They didn’t chase the 485 hp Hemi. They didn’t chase the 662 hp GT350. They are not gonna chase the 475 hp GT.
  3. The EXTERNAL focus will be on offering the best overall performance car in its class.
  4. The INTERNAL focus will remain fixed on maintaining highest Average Transaction Price and, therefore, higher profitability for the Camaro brand.

As lt4camaro points out, the LT1 for 2019 is already baked, so the idea of cam changes or Dynamic Fuel Management ala the Silverado can be filed under “Ain’t Gonna Happen”. Low end torque will keep it at a driver’s race with GT PP and Scat Pack and the Alpha chassis will continue to deliver best overall performance car. The improved Mustang closes the gap a bit on performance and will probably still draw more sales due to ergonomic issues. The sales gap will probably close a bit due to the significant price increase for Mustang, which brings GT PP really close to Camaro SS pricing. A low cost SS will have potential to toast the non-PP GT in terms of both performance and sales.

Maybe they should be chasing those cars. Look at sales figures.

Yeah, but it’s not a horsepower thing, it’s a price thing. Adding more horsepower won’t help that.
