LLT Fatality

It is official, my 65K mile 2010 LLT has met its demise. Spun the #3 rod bearing and #1 was on its way out. We quit looking at that point because it all meant the same. Due to the warranty being up last year and the tune and nitrous it looks like this one is all on my dime. Either way, new GM reman engine is on its way and it should be fixed just in time for me to pick it up when we get back from Vegas. The dealer is going to work with me on labor and parts so that should help too.

A picture of the damage...

Not 100% sure. Went from using almost no oil between changes to 3 qts in about 3500 miles. No idea where that much went. Probably starved it at some point. Getting a GM reman LLT to put in it.

Remanufactured

Although I would have gone with a used engine.

All together it will be about $6500 for the engine, labor, and a few little things to go with it. I will find out exactly when I pick it up.

Same story with me, but it happened at about 22k. I used 1/4 of a quart every oil change, until suddenly, 5 quarts disappeared. No smoke, no leaks, nothing but horrible noises.
Luckily, GM took care of it for me. Funny thing is, the new motor had an oil fill cap that read "Dexos Only".

I put half a quart of lucas synthetic stabilzer. I checked my oil today and it was at the 3rd section on one side, and almost to the full bar on the other. I am at 1,800 from the last oil change that was fully synthetic. I did several checks and it was the same. Maybe this will help.
