There won't be a recall or tsb. Us Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban owners have been dealing with cracked dashes also and very very few have gotten any help at all outside of those still within bumper to bumper coverage. Some of those people that were covered under b2b, have had their replacement dash crack again. In the same exact places, just like the rest of us have. Exact same cracks for all of us.

Add me as well. 2010 early production of April 2009. 45,000 miles and is now a daily driver so during work it does sit outside.
Not cracked or split, more so a outlined and raised area of where the air bag is. Unfortunately as the cars life goes on it will probably get worse. As a auto body technician and firefighter (I see a lot of deployed airbags) I do wonder the safety. If the outlined deployment area of the bag is weak it could be harmful, instead of it opening up like a flap. |

I just discovered this infamous crack yesterday when I was cleaning my car out. I never noticed it when I was driving but when I got into the passenger seat it was clear as day. I have a 2010 with just over 44,000 miles on it and I keep the car in really good condition. The crack must have happened within the last three or four months because that was the last time I was in the passenger seat and I would have noticed it. I've looked at dash mats but I don't like how they look. I'm not sure what I should do because that crack is going to drive me insane. I don't think it'd be worth the money to replace the dashboard. Any suggestions what I should do? I might just suck it up and buy a dash mat.

Do you think one of the vinyl repair shops could fix it? Like Dr. Vinyl?
I've seen them do some excellent work. Used car dealers use them all the time.

Not to beat a dead horse but did anybody ever file a complaint with the NHTSA over potential improper airbag deployment due to these cracked dash panels or does somebody have to die first???

The cracks form because the dash is made purposely weak in those areas, so that the airbag can deploy properly. Being cracked before air bag deployment is not going to cause any sort of safety issues.
