Just curious if you have made a choice yet on which transmission your
going to get. This is open to any buyer or potential buyer. I'm undecided
at the moment and have reasons why I would pick either or. So have you
decided and what swayed you in that direction?
Sure I do... physical limitations on driving a stick. Not that it's a choice! I think the auto is going to be awesome.

I'm still on the fence...

I think it will be easier to get a auto' to go faster in my cirumstances (emissions compliance-wise), but, I have a feeling it's going to be more expensive like others have said, and it'll be a good $1200 on top of all that for a required converter and tune that I'd need to swap if I go that way, and that should get me close to 0.5 on the 1320'. I'm thinking it'll easily be about $2K (for LTs, CAI,and tune) for the stick to improve about 0.5 on the 1320', while at least that for the auto' option but probably not include all GG taxes. It's easy to hide a converter, and a little more difficult for pulleys, but to stay under the radar around here, non-CARB headers and CAI are a no-go (yes - LE knows what to look for around here...). If I can't add the power, I need to add leverage but I think it will be more expensive going with the auto'

The auto' sounds a little better, performance-wise, for me, but it's all going to come down to $$$

Become one with the machine. Nothing completes this circuit better than having your hand on the stick and your foot on the clutch/gas. The ZL1 is the Borg, and you have been assimilated. Be The Machine.

.

More fun for me
Higher top end
Downshifting & skipping gears
Challenges me to attempt to exceed an auto on the 1320
Cheaper/easier to maintain (GG Tax benefit too)
I get to play with my stick a lot

Manual.

Being one with the machine... priceless.

Manual!

my first ride was a '92 toyota pick up with a 5 spd. Ever since then I have always prefered having the control. besides, the auto doesnt always know what you mean to do with it.

I am old but not shiftless so I prefer MTXs. However, if an eight speed automatic becomes available fairly soon, like Chrysler will offer, I will gladly wait for it. CTS-V autos are faster than manuals and that is the 6 speed, so the 8 speed seems the way to go.
