What can be pluged into the sound system that has the quality of at least a CD? iPhone and iPods do not have very good sound quality.

You can plug usb, aux and bluetooth/pandora into mylink. The sound quality is pretty good with each, as good if not better then the avic 940xt I had in my last car. I don't have any lossless music to try but I believe it supports it on the usb. But I doubt the non audiophile will notice or care with the regular car noise going on.

Personal experience, Ipods work great. Usually, but not always, when a head unit has a USB input there is a built-in function to bypass the tiny internal DAC of the Ipod which is what causes the subpar sound. I don't know the specs of this head unit, but I would think it does this. Satellite radio sounds like garbage, however.

I could use the new digital recorder that has better quality than a CD and plug into the AUX port.
MP3 is not very good in sound quality. |

i have the same problems in missing the cd player. I posted a thread asking about the song limit on the new my link and it was said that 10,000 songs is the limit it can see. So you could use an external drive and rip your cd's into the wav format for true lossless. I have not attempted this as my wife gave me a new i-pod as a gift, so i have been ripping my collection into apple lossless, and it leaves a lot to be desired in sound quality IMO. Here is the link were some of this was discussed.

An iPod can have very good quality. The key is what the files are encoded in and the bitrate.

So I could put CD file on a thumb drive and just plug it in? Also can I put songs on the my link that is in the car? I have not got that far with reading the book. So I would copy a CD to a thumb drive? Then transfer to the radio if I want or play from thumb drive? |
