Look at this thread

This is supposed to be the first time the public gets a hands on look at the production car.

There wont be 37, thats for sure. Oshawa wont be building anything yet by Sept. There are only a handful of cars today... and one went to NBC..... unplanned, but how could GM say no. Pricetag for the handbuilt cars we've seen so far... about a quarter of a million EACH.

What GM will have are Camaro team members there ready to discuss everything 5th gen with us. By September, they should have just aobut everything sewn up except for pricing.

No, you wont be able to drive a 5th gen. That I can guarantee.

Scott will also ensure he pulls some gems out of the GM Historic Collection too.

I think there's going to be a few. if there's only one, I'm going to have the biggest fit anyone has ever seen
I'm With Tag on this one..EVERYTHING he said is the same for me..

Then that makes TWO of the biggest fits you've ever seen. I wouldn't worry too much about having cameras ready....as GM doesn't want to see my fit throwing abilities. They know what I'm capable of.

I was already hammered once for a "special b-pillar thread..." yes. Black suburbans came to my door. One occupant ... well, I just won't talk about that now...

That's what I'm hoping for. I want to see our options in person. Since we probably won't be seeing production Camaro's at auto shows anytime soon, I'm heading to Indy.

Some RAMPANT SPECULATION.....

I am making this up as I go along, so don't think I know anything you guys don't, but.....

At the chats on Monday a question was asked about Museum Delivery ala the Vette, the answer was:

RandyCorkett: Can the car be ordered and pick up from the factory

JohnFitzpatrick: No plans that we can announce at this time. The issue we have is that Camaro will be produced in Oshawa, Canada, which makes it a little more difficult to offer the delivery system Corvette now offers.

There is a museum in Indy like one near the plant for the Vette and its in the US instead of in Canada for US customers. There is a club there to potentially run, not quite next to the plant, but would it work for you to take a tour of the Indy museum, see all the cars and pace cars, and then pick up your Camaro at the end of the tour and go over it with a specialist ala the Vette?

Just thinking out loud and asking the question. Maybe that is the reason they appear to be holding the SS till then...But I am guessing, would it be worth say $500 like it is on the Vette for you? Easy for me, I closer to Indy than I am to Bowling Green, and both are within a few hours....

What if it were just the 4 cars that the second focus group drove?

to me, it would be worth picking it up at the Indy Museum... being able to pick it up there and then drive it home getting used to the controls and such is the fun of getting something like that... and starting life with the car off with a road trip that you can change the oil at the end of is awesome... so yes, I'd definitely pay $500 extra for something like that... especially if it meant getting a pic of the car doing a lap at the Indy Motor Speedway

I think the ones at INDY are supposed to Production Models. The Focus groups cars were PRE-PROS..

But Who Knows.??
