Power steering question?
I think I might need power steering fluid...can someone tell me how to get the top off? If that's what it even is?

It should just twist off counter clockwise and lift off.

I tried. Not hard because I was worried about breaking something...I'll try harder now that I know it's suppose to twist. Btw, do you know a good fluid for our cars!

It should just twist off. Make sure you clean up around the cap before you take it off so no dirt gets in. Below is a good synthetic power steering fluid.

Just turn the cap counter clockwise and it will come off.
Just curious.....why do you think you need power steering fluid?

Was turning the wheel when backing into my garage when it made a grinding/scretching like sound. It happens when I turn the wheel at slow speeds. Hope it's not something else!

Does it only happen in your garage? Could be your tires squeaking on the floor?

No outside. It happens when the wheel is turned and the car moves. Soon as I hit the brakes, the noise stops

Does it make the noise when you just turn the wheel without the car moving? If not, I don't think the noise is from the power steering.

I was thinking possibly a wheel bearing but don't have enough info to feel confident on that as your culprit. How many miles on this Camaro? Any front end mishaps like hitting curbs and such? How much pad wear on brakes? Wheel well liners all good with no rubs at full turn?
